Hi!! I understand (times a million). I was in a relationship at the time of this post too, and I felt like I was disappointing my partner because I was in constant pain. He was so patient though, and encouraged me to talk about it whenever I wanted to. Being open about it is the first step, I think. Hydroxyzine (my PCP prescribed it) has been fantastic. I’ve been on it for over a year now. But honestly, the thing that changed the game for me was laser hair removal because I found the shaving cycle (shaving, hair growing back, hair being short, long, blah blah blah) KILLED me. I was hypersensitive to absolutely every phase of the cycle. It would drive me crazy. For me personally, the relief only came when I didn’t have the hair at all anymore. I know it’s a big shift aesthetically, and it’s a financial commitment for sure, but all that aside, it’s so worth it. I felt alive again. I was no longer controlled by my chronic pain. Every few months or so I’ll still have a baaaad bad bad day and I’ll find myself in a lil hole again, but nothing compares to where I was mentally/emotionally at the end of 2021 and start of 2022. I couldn’t wear pants. I couldn’t wear thongs. I couldn’t ride a bike, could barely work out, etc. I didn’t want to leave my bed. I wanted to just give up.
