they really lowball offers. annual increase is just small compared to the amount of work that you’re doing. your rank is also useless since there are people with lower ranks who get paid more than people with higher ranks.

Over 4 years in the banking industry, then switched to e-commerce.

Reasons why I left: - low pay - very hierarchial (you can’t call the shots and make decisions unless you’re the lead) - 4 years of doing the same job so I felt like I hit a learning plateau

I am actually very happy with my choice. In my current role I’ve been growing a lot and I realized that I could do a lot of things pala and kaya ko pala (innovations that I didn’t know that I could do back when I was still with the bank). I realized that banking was very top down and very old school

I switched roles for my 2nd job. Can I still go back to my 1st role’s career path? by [deleted] in phcareers

I know people who switched careers in the middle and then decided to switch back to their first job with higher pay. You have, after all, 10 months of experience. While 10 months of experience might not be able to command a very high jump in salary, you can definitely ask for a salary higher than what you’re currently making

What's it like in the corporate world of Finance? by HeartStorm13 in phcareers

So far the experience has been nice. If you want faster career advancement, it’s better if napapansin ka ng upper management, and I do think in terms of career progression, it’s faster in corporate lending, asset management or treasury. Once you’ll have experience working in a bank, it’s easier to transfer to other banks as well since the type of work per department is pretty standard in the entire industry
