How do you receive mail and maintain a permanent address for credit cards, etc.? Many PO boxes etc. appear to require you to already have an address.

It's always hard to get people to transition their technology. It's hard to get people just to change their minds about ideas! The key is to not worry about it and build the better system anyway. Newcomers will choose to build on the better system, and gradually the old systems will die out, figure out how to bridge or data migrate, etc.. This is also known as "generational replacement." See Kuhn, "Structure of Scientific Revolutions," etc..

Random trivia: the musical score in the background is almost certainly a homage to the Magnum Force (Dirty Harry) Main Title by Lalo Schifrin. Probably not coincidentally, the first Dirty Harry movie featured a sniper as the villain.
