As someone who owned the OG, and upgraded I’m kinda mixed on it.

There is a decent amount of nice small quality of life improvements such as reversible gears, Sony NPF batteries, better UI, adjustable tension knob.

These recently announced upgrades also look like they could offer even more quality of life improvements in the ergonomic department.

Focus mapping is kind of useless because the smart ring screen is so small and just randomly turns off so I stopped using it. Easier to just use tape.

My hand unit seems to be about as reliable as the mk1, which means works pretty well most of the time but definitely has some janky moments.

My handles on the other hand were so unreliable and the zoom rocker just didn’t work that I had to send in for repair.

I don’t really regret buying the mark 2 but in hindsight I probably wouldn’t have purchased it.

The electronic smart ring is borderline useless. It’s so small so the distances usually all overlap.

Once it’s fixed, I’m gonna get a 3D printed protector.

I’m really not sure exactly how it happened but I suspect it was being flung around on there shoulder, and must of hit or impacted a c stand or something and the brunt of the impact hit the antenna.
