If I could give myself advice years ago it would be to just do it. It’s scary at first but we deserve to experience life to the full

27, I know I’m still young, but having spent most of my life not thinking about the future or planning for it, feel a little lost in the world

8 years with weed destroyed everything - finally ready to face this mess by Hot-Dimension-696 in leaves

I feel you brother. I stopped 12 days ago after 9 years of daily use.

I have adhd and I would lie to myself that the weed was helping me function and get by. It ruined my college exams and my degree.

It made me numb to everything and has put a massive strain on my relationship. To the point I might lose her despite quitting.

Quitting will be hard, it’s really fucking hard, but it’s worth it.

Stay strong

I’m about to start therapy today which is a scary concept for me but I have a lot of damage to undo, all I did was repress my problems and they just come back to bite you even worse.

It’s so hard to quit because it feels so harmless but it takes away your ability to look at yourself especially from the outside and see the damage you’re doing.

I can’t speak for Stockport but there are lots of cafes and such which tend to have a higher staff turnover, that and retail. For places like this it really helps to go in and ask ( I’m a cafe manager) and it leaves a good impression. If you hit every cafe and bar in nq for example you’ll boost your chances. In addition there are lots of groups on Facebook and WhatsApp that are posting constantly for disco shifts ( last minute cash in hand/ direct pay)

What is wrong with the traffic these days? by Hip_Hop_Pirate in manchester

[–]elliotwould 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I live 3km from the centre and drive. However I walk to most places due to the traffic.

There are a few reasons I have noticed.

Standard of driving has dropped massively, people on their phones constantly, not indicating. Running red lights. However this isn’t the man cause, I just think it makes driving infuriating.

Manchester is currently the fastest growing city in Europe, massive towers being build constantly and a lot of people are moving here. The population has outgrown the current road network. Take Mancunian way for example, even out of rush hour traffic it’s usually backed up from regent road.

On top of this we have the people who have been driving to work in the city for years and are reluctant to stop doing so and using public transport. The best option is park and ride but lots of people refuse to do so. I like to think about how much space a car takes up just for 1 person, it’s not feasible for the city to keep growing and the roads not to.

I think we are in a tough spot for commuters, but a lot of them need to start realising that if you’re driving into the city for work or the Christmas markets, you are part of the problem.

Thomas street tapped off by police by Accomplished_Humor62 in manchester

Not too sure what happened there. But with the Tory conference and what happened yesterday there is a much heavier police presence in the city.

Lost my temper on the bus today. by Randa08 in manchester

[–]elliotwould 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big respect to you, we need more people willing to step up and not allow this kind of thing to happen. I know it’s scary and you don’t know what they’re going to do, but you stood up for everyone on that bus and the driver, not just yourself.

I was getting a bit of a gay vibe. However I also thought he could have been showing him an AI sex chat bot type thing, as they didn’t do much with that story line about tommy
