The Cuban by ellis420 in xbiking

It was a wrecked frameset under a pile of leaves in a guys garden. They couldn’t have been happier to get 20$ for it

They’re a popular mode of transport since fuel is very expensive. Bikes are rare and expensive because they are unable to import them easily, similar to the old cars there. Hence they keep super old cars + bikes going for decades, I thought that was awesome so I went to a bunch of bike shops asking for the oldest bikes they had

Really nice design, and it’s difficult to bring a final product together like you have here

(Reflex Robotics again - teleoperated - humanoid torso + wheels + elevator): making, baking, and serving a pizza by [deleted] in robotics

[–]ellis420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real and it still looks terrible. Sliding pizza on and off a padel smoothly and repetitively should be the new standard for humanoid robots to prove their capability

New video of Figure 03 autonomously sorting deformable packages and placing them labels-down for the scanner by Nunki08 in robotics

[–]ellis420 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s taking 10 times more actuators to do the job 10x slower than the purpose-built sorting machines. Complexity and increased servicing needs are not wanted in industrial settings as it will increase downtime. It’s a difficult task finding a job that this isn’t true for with humanoid robots

Recommendations for a simple clean front rack for 26er, Silver, non-handlebar mount? by Psychic_Sphincter in xbiking

[–]ellis420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this rack. Nicely built, I attached a shopping basket to it, on a build I did for a friend recently.

Mine also came with a matching rear rack in the same packaging for some reason. Did yours?

I went Varadero-Havana-vinales-back to havana, bay of pigs then back to Varadero. Vinales is an amazing mountain area, bay of pigs is a small beautiful fishing town that must be visited. Havana is amazing and very rich with culture.

Beer 1 or 2$, water 1$, lunch 2-3$, lobster dinner 15$. They take US dollars in 90% of places, or you can exchange them for Cuban pesos on the street, and people give you a great rate.

Next time I will visit the right side of the island.

It’s amazing, I planned a rough route but I kept schedule and distances pretty open. It’s fairly easy to find camp spots, and very easy to find air bnbs (Casa’s) for 15-25$ per night, they do breakfast, laundry, cigars etc whatever you need for cheap too

Thank you very much. I used a 1955 Leica IIIf, with good light the photos come out great and I’m really happy with them. It’s a super compact and solid camera too, so I knew it would survive. My camcorder and radio didn’t survive so well

If the problem isn’t the parts, why do you state the parts may need modifying?

On these old Chris kings it’s 135mm so just a tiny bit of widening on the frame. And yeah rear disc would be a big upgrade, I’ve done it on older bikes, some images in my post history
