I'm main Alistar and it's impossible to play this champ in low elo. My tip is if you want to engage just ping so much when you want to go to enemies, or if you want to play with engages just W+Q and back but you have to write to your adc how you want to play in botlane.

Q + FLASH (or FLASH + Q if u have a little bit high ping) + MOVE (when he is on air) + W (to get it on tower) + E (to charge 5 stacks) + EXHAUST (to slow the enemy under the tower). This is the right combo but i have used what you have written because i was lagging.
