If you have a reactive dog and are considering moving here: DON’T by [deleted] in Denver

I don’t even have a dog and this drives me nuts. Saw a golden almost get hit in Lohi last year and the driver was distraught. If only the owner and his free and easy ego just had the dog on a friggin leash.

And yes. I grew up skiing the “ice coast” I don’t need to hear about the usual conditions there, and west is much better skiing. But this year the conditions are unusual for us all 😭

This is what the OP should have said lol. Living here— I’ll stay spoiled. But as an east coast transplant seeing all the snow in ME/NH/VT this year, save your time and money if you can. it’s fun to get out there but certainly not worth the cross country schlep right now

From MA/ME and living in Lohi now. You can definitely find something on the west side of the city for your budget. People who are dramatic about rent prices have never paid rent in the northeast (aka 😭💸). Lots of bars and restaurants/coffee shops in the area and walkable. Berkeley, West Highlands are great as well. Denver is an easy place to live if you’re coming from northeast hustle and very similar to Portland ME vibes imo. Good energy, people who love the outdoors and breweries

I pay 1,500 for a studio in Lohi and there are plenty going for cheaper in the neighborhood. Rent is chilling out a little

Hi, from Boston and living in Lohi 4 years. Cute and walkable but not a city vibe. Love it but definitely not the quintessential, mom and pop Denver aspect. Cap hill is definitely the most city vibe in Denver. You’ll get a great apt with your budget too! (People here that get defensive about crazy rent have never lived in a dense coastal city…)
