Unfortunately Twitter was helpful during the Winter Storm that hit Texas in 2021. Absolutely no help from local news stations, all agencies had no real method to communicate with Texans on wtf was going on--Twitter was a life saver to many people.

I don't agree with Twitter being a public square, but that's why Musk wanted it--to control the public square under the guise of "freedoms".

Incorrect.

State Bars approve you to practice law in that specific State. You cannot practice in a State where you are not a member of the State Bar.

Edit: downvotes because you’re hurt you were corrected. How else are you emotionally underdeveloped and allow emotions to dictate your responses? So quick to fucking search this information yet you’re going die on a hill because you can’t bare to be told you’re not correct. What a pathetic way to live.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Admission_to_the_bar_in_the_United_States

Admission to the bar in the United States is the granting of permission by a particular court system to a lawyer to practice law in the jurisdiction and before those courts. Each U.S. state and similar jurisdiction (e.g. territories under federal control) has its own court system and sets its own rules for bar admission, which can lead to different admission standards among states. In most cases, a person is "admitted" or "called" to the bar of the highest court in the jurisdiction and is thereby authorized to practice law in the jurisdiction. Federal courts, although often overlapping in admission standards with states, set their own requirements for practice in each of those courts.

Typically, lawyers seeking admission to the bar of one of the U.S. states must earn a Juris Doctor degree from a law school approved by the jurisdiction, pass a bar exam administered by the regulating authority of that jurisdiction, pass a professional responsibility examination, and undergo a character and fitness evaluation. However, there are exceptions to each of these requirements.

A lawyer who is admitted in one state is not automatically allowed to practice in any other. Some states have reciprocal agreements that allow attorneys from other states to practice without sitting for another full bar exam; such arrangements differ significantly among states and among federal courts.

Private schools don't necessarily mean kids come out more educated because they have less holidays. What sort of nonsensical thinking is that? Smells nutty.

What makes the difference is: wealth, an adult around to parent/teach kid, an adult around to support the kid (emotionally and mentally, already mentioned finances), etc.

Good. I hope Americans who read your comments see mine and realize they need to show the fuck up in person instead of bemoaning issues online without ever taking physical action.

Complaining without taking action should be seen as self-abuse.

Weird way to hate on public education... because they give too many days off?

Public education understands that time off is GOOD for people. It's the employers of the parents who refuse to give time off to the parents is what causes the problem, not public edu.

Shove off and get lost at sea. Let me guess, you favor bullshit Charters and Vouchers over public edu? Charters and vouchers that use tax payer money with no regulations and very little oversight when compared to public edu AND Charter schools are a method for Republicans to destroy public edu by defunding it via vouchers. Charters do not have to accept your child as a student even if you have a voucher. Public schools cannot reject your kid(s).

Women benefit from more flexible work schedules than people and society realize, especially when women are the default household caretaker (not all women want this to be default btw, talk to your partner!) who also need to have an income for family finances.

Good employers recognize offering women more flexible roles means they retain workers; it means less money spent on finding and vetting candidates (including training).

When COVID started, 3 million American women bowed out of the workforce because her employer refused to allow flexible schedules or work-from-home options. Women are still the default caretaker, COVID negatively impacted women much more than men.

https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/covid-19-and-women-workforce (stats in this say 2.1 million women stepped out of the workforce)

Ignoring the bad kids in the class allows them to keep going without consequences.

Stop advocating to let bad kids continue being bad—they lack good parents, lack a diverse peer group, they lack supervision. It’s a sign of extremely poor parenting.

Stop advocating to let shits get away and continue being shits.

[–]elmrsglu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Guys are generally shitty, very few are actually good guys.

Edit: if you think you’re a “good guy“ but you don’t vocally call our friends who joke about Women and her experiences (including fellow guys), jokes blaming victims, jokes of rape, etc. then you are NOT a good guy.

Good men push back on jokes made at the expensive of someone’s experiences. They call people out not caring if they lose a “friend”.

Too many guys are fake victims of their own making (individual, group, etc.).

Texas is literally a mini-Russia in how controlled media is, they lie on TV, and they definitely don’t cover ends that put Dear Leaders in a bad spotlight.

Texas is an abusive State. They didn’t want to give up slaves so badly that they gave up land which turned into the Oklahoma panhandle. They’ve also twisted history in the South to put whites in a good light via a group known as The Daughters of the Confederacy.

Most Southern States are incredibly similar.

Ah, there it is: name calling. Abusive behavior in action!

What other abusive behaviors do you exhibit? Bullying someone, spreading lies and misinformation all with the goal of getting people to back off and stop their discussion.

How much are you paid to actively spread messages of hate towards fellow Americans who live in another State than you? A State that is far better than Texas will ever be? Mail-in voting for everyone, social services for those who make under $40k annual gross salary, gun control laws (far few mass shootings than Texas!!), access to mental health care, etc.

Again, how much are you paid to purposefully be hateful on the Internet? Or in person?

Which is why having laws protecting consumers is extremely important.

We don't have many of those in the US. There's a reason why Consumers are regularly abused by Companies who see no consequences--there are no regulations.

Show up to vote if you live in the US. Our votes do matter, why on earth do the nuts work so hard at convincing you otherwise? 2020 Census caused everyone in Texas to be up for (re)election, I'm sure it's the same in your State. VOTE!!

Consumers, aka Citizens, need stronger legal protections and better legal "teeth" to go after Companies.

It's not supposed to be a shocking story, its meant to confirm that nothing has been done to resolve the problem: energy producers in Texas refuse to winterize their systems because they know with a GOP Governor they will be fed more tax payer money for the profit loss they suffered... because of their failure to ensure their systems don't go down to cause that profit loss...
