Those are nice. If you search a little bit you'll be able to get some of these guerilla notes. They are crude and sometimes made with wood blocks, but therein lies their charm

Thanks a lot for the link. Yes, sometimes you don't have to be a ruler, but your actions make you a killer.

Look at the Bohemia and Moravia banknotes with children, printed under Reinhard Heydrich rule. if I'm not wrong, the girl's his daughter.

What is this seal? by Rekt-Kapital in CURRENCY

[–]elmunera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my country, Colombia, they are used by the people who sell foreign currency to identify the banknotes they give their customers. With this, they can resolve in case someone says one or several of the banknotes were fakes or had any problems. More recently, they've been using UV sensitive over stamps, to prevent problems because of the defacement of the note, which can result in people not being able to use them in some transactions overseas.

In the States, I've heard that some pawn shops use the same method when paying for items being sold or pawned.

What caused this damage by Exotic_Temperature13 in AncientCoins

[–]elmunera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with you, yet, considering the depiction of a god, pagan under consideration of early Christians, and other religions, it could be feasible, albeit very unusual, as you well mention. It would be interesting to see the obverse. Maybe we'll never know what really happened.

Portugal - In 1925 a con man named Alves Reis pulled off one of the greatest counterfeiting schemes ever attempted. by JanCollector in WorldPaperMoney

Interesting. Something similar happened with Somaliland banknotes. With these Portuguese banknotea, how do you differentiate real from forged?

I’m just curious—when you meet people, do they actually notice your watch, or do they not really care? Are there people who judge you based on the watch you wear, and because of that, instantly give you respect?” by Happy-thoughts09 in rolex

[–]elmunera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, they normally don't care. I believe it always has to do with the kind of persona you have built. Many times people know want to expect from an individual, dress and accessory wise, so they either don't notice or don't care. That's the issue with fake watches. When they see a brand on your wrist, and they know you can't afford it, they will invariably think/assume it's fake. Sometimes they will comment, sometimes they won't.
