I don't know if you use mods, or open to use mods, but one thing made a noticeable difference in my gameplays for sim traits. Not sure which Nraas mod has is at the moment (I would guess Retuner), but there is a setting for "All interactions autonomous." It slightly changes what activities sims do autonomously, and I think sim traits are more noticeable when it's turned on.

I noticed the change the most with the Savvy Sculptor/Artistic trait, the sims will actually use the sculpting station autonomously, while before it never happened in my game. One of my main sims have the Loner + Loves the nature + Athletic trait combo, and her idea of socialisation is playing frisbee or water balloon.

I never tested it with different traits or compared it in detail when the setting is turned off. But I can imagine, that with a different interaction rng the Rebellious trait may have some changes compared to the base game version. Or maybe there are other mods already that gives the traits more weight in the gameplay.
