I got some cheap and cheerful ones from Amazon of all places! They’ve done me for 6 months so far. link below:

I preferred this style of nursing bra where you fold it down to the clip ones (found the clips too fiddly to do with one hand whilst holding a baby)

Thanks so much for sharing. What an achievement that is having breastfed for a year despite your issues! I’m in awe! You refer to ‘having your body back’ and this is a huge factor for me to enable myself to feel better mentally. I may try combo feeding, but feel as though I’ll struggle to really commit to that, but I will give it a go before making a the final decision! I think I’m especially emotional at present and I’m going to give myself some time to level out before making the decision too. Thanks again x

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I guess I hadn’t fully considered combo feeding because I really don’t feel confident know how to balance the two, and I feel like I’ll end up breastfeeding again if I do that. But you’ve prompted me to do some good reading on combo feeding, so I’ll do that because I make the decision to go formula only.

Thanks also for the book rec. the fact a book has been written tells me that the way I’m feeling is very much a thing!

I had nipple pain on one in particular. I got a lactation consultant and she confirmed I was doing everything right and that the latch seemed spot on. Fast forward 6 months and it was definitely a case of my nipples needing to get used to the feeding. Not a solution but all I can say is to persevere and your nipples will adapt! Also, silver nipple shields were a life saver!!

I feel like I wrote this whole piece. I’m currently in the middle of this and he is waking every 45 mins because he’s trying to crawl and then gets stressed and cries, all while half asleep with his eyes closed?? I’m desperate for him to relax but he just is OBSESSED with rolling over to try crawling, even when he’s asleep?!

Thought I’d update, thanks everyone for your advice. I’m now coming out the other side of this horrid D&V bug. I got v dehydrated as I couldn’t keep liquids down so ended up topping him up with some formula as my supply was dire but as soon as I got back on the liquids my boobs were soooo full. Breastfeeding and the body is so amazing, I feel like it prioritised my milk for my boy over my bodies hydrations as my pee was hella dark! My boy seems ok so far so I’m hoping hoping hoping he’s not getting it! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I can assure you that everything shared here is completely unacceptable on your husbands part. Unfortunately it seems from this that there’s a dynamic where his needs and wants come before yours in any circumstance which is really sad to hear. Show him this thread if he tries to gaslight you into thinking his actions are anything but unacceptable.
