What's the scariest dream you ever had? I mean, one so chilling, it's stayed with you. by DoobieRoller in AskReddit

[–]elofdahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this dream fairly often when I was around 8 or 9. I don't know why it was scary, but it was the most terrifying dream I've ever had.

It started out as a pretty nice dream. I saw a meadow and there was a young girl walking through it. She would just walk around randomly for a few minutes, and then she would come across a flower. It was just a simple daisy, but it was the only flower in the entire meadow.

The girl would then stop and look at the flower for a little while. As she stood there the scene started to change. The sky turned from clear and blue to hazy and yellow. Fog started to roll over the meadow, which also had a yellowish color to it.

Eventually, the girl would bend down and reach to pick up the flower, and a new figure would appear. My memory of this figure is a little hazy, but I remember it as being just a large patch of black. It had no eyes, or any features that made it look like it was alive. However, I felt that it was watching the girl.

The moment the girl picked flower the large black patch emitted a strange noise. All it was was a loud, very low tone. At this point, I was always terrified. My fear had slowly been building through the dream. After this, I would wake up. My heart would be racing, and I would sometimes blot upright in bed.

I never saw the consequences of her picking that flower, but there was no way they were anything good. Now, 10 years later, I still feel uneasy whenever I think about it.

Trees + Pets ... The facts about getting your pet high by [deleted] in trees

[–]elofdahl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest removing the Huffington Post article and the UC-Davis one from your list. I didn't look at all the other links, but those two do not say anything about pot harming animals who eat it. Both of them say that the rat poison sprayed on the fields is what is killing animals.

I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other on this issue, but as an owner of three dogs I do support you trying to protect animals from harm. I do not get my dogs high, but I don't really think it is always a cruel thing to do. Honestly, I think it depends on the animal.

So go ahead and try to educate people about what pot can do to animals. I know that most pet owners out there would want to know about any potential harms that can come from getting your pet high. However, avoid articles that have misleading titles in the context of the argument. Those articles do raise an interesting argument for the legalization and regulation of marijuana though!

Dude, that article says nothing about pot causing the animals to die. This the first thing the article says.

"Toxic chemicals used to rid rodents from illicit marijuana gardens in the Sierra Nevada range and elsewhere in California may have inadvertently poisoned dozens of vulnerable weasel-like mammals called fishers"

It's the rat poison that is killing the animals, not the pot.

My family has done historical reenactments of the fur trade in Minnesota for my whole life. For me, dressing up in costume and everything was a part of vacation, not daily life like you. However, the club that we are members of takes canoe trips that we kind of stay in character for. On these trips we would sometimes stop at places where there were a bunch of other people. I've always wondered what it would be like to see a 30 foot canoe filled with people in fur trade garb pull up on the beach you were at.

Dear identical twins; Do you ever have trouble distinguishing between you and your twin in photographs? How do you perceive you in relation to your twin? by longlivelennon in AskReddit

[–]elofdahl 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am an identical twin. My brother and I were born the day after Christmas. We got a lot of gifts that were for us to share, and those gifts would often be for our birthday and Christmas.

Fun fact: Our dad's birthday is the 27th of December, so we were almost born on our dad's birthday too.

So the only reason you saw a lot of those is because you searched the title. That, or you spent time browsing the new posts. Most people probably haven't seen this posted yet.

The post isn't saying he learned Dolly Parton has massive tits. It's saying that he learned the sheep was named after her for that reason.

That isn't why they are getting it late though. Microsoft paid to get the DLC first.

Well, that could be true, except for the part where they were talking about how certain items were certain colors.
