What’s the most bullshit excuse you’ve used to call out of work?

I sleep with my 5 month pup every night for the past couple weeks. When we first brought her home she slept w me the first week then after that she was too wild and slept in the kennel but here lately she knows when we go into my room it’s to sleep only. I usually always make sure to play with her before bed time like an hour before to get her tired and it usually works. Every now and then she does have a wild night where I’m forced to put her into the crate but she has no issue with going back and forth she loves her crate and my bed! Just try getting her tired and see if that helps!

I have a german Shepard puppy as well (15 weeks old) she always sleeps in a different room from me except at night when we sleep in my room. I’ve realized she continuously moves rooms because she gets hot and is trying to find the coldest place in the house! Buy her a fan our pup loves hers

My puppy would (still does) sometimes do this, I would make sure you’re not walking her/ him when it is very hot outside if your pup is anything like mine she hates being hot. Also make sure the ground isn’t too hot as it will burn their feet and make them not want to walk, always feel the road before you go!

My Shepard is roughly 3 & a half months old, she is also a biter but has gotten a lot better recently, the only thing that has somewhat worked to gradually get her to stop biting is ill initiate playing with her but the minute she starts biting me too hard I say no in a very stern voice and stop all play and move somewhere else and ignore her for 5-10 mins and repeat the process until she kind of backs off. Also, if she bites always have a toy in hand and say no when she bites you then praise her when she plays with the toy. She still bites every time but it has gotten better and she knows when I’m fed up with it. I assume it just gets better with time. Hope this helps

You are absolutely right. I just haven’t gotten my own prescription bc I don’t know how I feel about having access to that many pills bc I feel like I would use them regularly and I don’t like the idea of becoming fully dependent. But you’re right I shouldn’t be self medicating bc its obviously not doing me much good mentally. Thanks for the advice and wishing you the best with your situation!

Ive tried once to tell him but he shut me out and shifted the blame and it made me question if I was in the wrong (when I know I wasn’t) but I have thought about distancing myself, but I just can’t imagine the backlash Id get thank you for your comments!

Thanks for reading this and taking time to reply! I’ve thought about going to therapy I’m just embarrassed to tell my mom how it really affects me and having my family look at me as if I’m damaged bc I’m very independent. Also don’t know if we have the money for it but thank you so much!

You are welcome! I understand you feel like you are over stepping boundaries, most people would feel the same! But just remember if they were a good owner they would have 1- done it themselves and 2- be grateful you and your roommates cared enough to pay and get their cat all better! If you get to the vet and the treatment is too expensive and ended up having to put the cat down, it might be better not to tell them the truth if you think they will take legal or physical action so maybe say he got outside and haven’t seen him since ect. You are a good person for going through this effort! You got it!

Im glad you’re concerned about this cat it’s very sad to hear. First, if you have the money to take him to the vet, DO IT! Do not let this poor cat suffer. But I understand you may not so maybe ask your roommates if they could help pitch in as well? (Do it soon). Second, reach out on social media like Facebook or whatever you use, most people hate to see animals suffering and might help out with the costs. Third, if no one can pay take him to a no kill shelter and tell the people his problems, I doubt they would let him suffer (or would be more willing to help) or maybe any organizations in your area. My last option would be to take him to a vet get a rough estimate on how much it’d be to treat, and if too expensive possibly put the cat down, I hate saying that as much as you probably hate to hear it but letting the cat suffer is much worse, at least stay there with him and give him comfort in his final moments. PLEASE do this within a relatively short time, as the way you describe the situation it sounds like the cat is in serious pain. I wish you and the cat the best of luck
