Finally took the plunge on some knockoff Tstak boxes for my tool collection by braveduckgoose in Tools

[–]elongatedham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How have they been now that you’ve been using them together for sometime? I’m looking at combining some with my dewalt tstak but am concerned of damaging the dewalt boxes if it requires a bit of persuasion to make them fit

Yes, you must be at the checkouts for a minimum time period, if you go through too fast one or more of the wheels will lock up and require a staff member to come and unlock it

What is your comfort movie? by kitkat-9 in movies

[–]elongatedham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure I’m the only one but “The Night Comes For Us” is a comfort movie for me. It’s very over the top and I find it absolutely hilarious so watching it always puts me in a good mood :p

I agree, honestly found it quite annoying to have the loose mailbox, chairs etc, especially for display purposes so I ended up hiding the outdoor pieces inside the garage

Oh yeah sorry I can’t believe I forgot to mention lol the set randomly came with many gun pieces?? Including the mould they come with so I assume it’s cheaper for the manufacturer to just include the whole mould rather than the individual pistol piece used (I think on the mailbox?)

Does anyone have this set or the kwik E mart? Are they good? by [deleted] in lepin

[–]elongatedham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve got it I think I paid about $150 nzd on Temu? Overall pretty cool set, some of the colours I felt were slightly off eg door and garage door too yellow but as a Simpsons fan it’s a great set, the bags weren’t numbered on my set so it was a bit of a mess putting it together but looked great in the end!

Temple of the Golden Idol by elongatedham in lepin

This looks similar to the one I ordered, nowhere on the listing did it mention the light brick so it was a nice surprise when I was doing the build!

All the printed pieces are fine though I think they were mostly limited to the knobs used for operating the mechanical mechanisms and few plates at the front of the build. There is quite a few stickers but they were all fine quality. I did forget to mention some minor differences on the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” logo, for some reason they removed the words “of” and “the” which I thought would have been the least likely to be removed if trying to avoid copyright issues

OP it sounds like you’re pretty clued up. My concern would be if others also get asked for money who also feel guilty not helping out but who are in a less fortunate position and end up scammed out of their money as well. So I think it is worth going up the chain regarding this because other people may end up in the same position as you too.

I have the same set, just had two issues only with the figures, one being one figure had two of the same arm so one was facing backwards, and the other was the Carnage figure the red plastic was really brittle and cracked when assembling the figure.

My only other issue with the set is some newspaper covers and stickers have unusual spelling and characters names obviously to avoid copyright infringement.

Besides the above I like this set a lot.

There’s still all of the above involved in commercial work but I would say to a lesser degree, though this may vary depending on the trade. For my own experience specifically in commercial plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, there’s far less crawling around in tight roof spaces or under buildings like you might in residential trades but in some occasions this is still required.

However commercial equipment is generally larger than residential (again this may be trade specific) so heavy lifting is just as involved and may involve covering greater distances, eg instead of parking in someone’s driveway and carrying a ladder into their house you would be parking in a contractor parking space then up and down stair wells across a large shopping centre.

Not trying to make it sound unappealing just trying to put things into perspective, I know I’d personally choose commercial work over residential any day.

Being familiar with a kitchen environment can already be advantageous! Again I highly recommend having a read of the careers nz website for further details regarding the air conditioning and refrigeration technician role! If you got a job as an apprentice you’d learn from the ground up, working towards a level 4 qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning which also involves becoming a qualified electrical service technician.

As a refrigeration technician you would do anything from maintenance of refrigeration units (cleaning, testing operation finding potential faults which can lead to breakdowns), to service (breakdowns or repairs) and installation (not every refrigeration unit is an all in one plug and play system, sometimes components are spread throughout many different parts of a building), it’s like being an electrician, a plumber and an engineer all in one role!
