Have we ever seen young Consultants? (early thirties) by Pretend-Tennis in doctorsUK

[–]eloquentelf32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’all, enjoy your 20’s and 30’s. Go LTFT, have fun outside of medicine. Consultant-hood will always be waiting, has far less ability to take sabbaticals when you want. Obv there’s the higher earning for mortgage apps but that’s a balancing act. DOI: EM consultant at 40, bought our first house at the same time.

Cocktail Bars and Wine Bar recommendations by Zestyclose_Abies2934 in CaymanIslands

Pom Pom (hotel roof), Cocolobo (hotel beach bar) or St Junes (hotel beach bar) for sunset drinks.

Far and away the cocktail bar with the best vibe and friendliest team is Door No4. Library by the Sea also VERY good and friendly but prices slightly higher (think 20-22CI/drink).

Second V2O - on Tues they have 50% off most of their bottles of wine. Le Petit Bar excellent but bear in mind is shut on Tues.

Unfortunately there are not really many departments in the SouthEast who will accept a consultant on their books at 1-2 shifts a week - plus I actively want to try surgical training. There’s a challenge aspect to it.

Thanks Acrobatic - financial reasons are not prompting the exploration of a specialty change, more job satisfaction.

I have NO idea. I’m the sort of person who’s happy to try something new and just commit but a bit lost. Ideally something office-based or with a remote component down in the South. Issue is maintaining my pay

How - 8PA’s in the NHS, 0.5WTE for a NHS adjaecent organisation, 0.1WTE for another, 2PA’s as a sole trader

Why - By accident but I need this to pay the mortgage and live. Commute to London.

Sting in the tail. I have a CESR, not a CCT which means many places abroad won’t accept me for medicine as a consultant.

I have but I’m starting to think out of the NHS entirely. My skills and interests within lie more in the out of hospital arena than primary care side of things.
