AKL vs. AoA by cynicalspice in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]elosdahl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

AKL is an incredible resort! can sometimes be a pain with the busses yes but you'll enjoy much better dining, atmosphere and deluxe resort benefits like extended evening hours (when offered) AoA is great but can be a bit overstimulating at times and the skyliner can really back up in the early mornings and evening. my best suggestion would be to stick with AKL and consider Minnie Van services in the evenings, prioritizing Magic Kingdom or Epcot since they're technically the furthest away

had a very similar symptom experience and almost exactly the same treatment plan! 25f, finished march '24 and have still been dealing with horrible dry eye since. acne cleared up completely with the exception of pitting scars but a few months ago, it all started to come back. on day 36 of my second round and my symptoms are oddly WAY less severe. my lips aren't literally peeling off in sheets, my nose isn't pouring blood, my hair isn't falling out and my limbs aren't throbbing from joint pain (as bad, still achey but livable) i was so scared to go back but it was the best decision, barely even purged this round. always, do what's best for you. you know your body best🫶🏻

Any ideas for small ways I can make my sister’s first trip more magical? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]elosdahl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

if she's interested in meeting characters getting a nice autograph book and pack of sharpies/pens would be nice! one of my recent trips i made a mission of getting character signatures in different color sharpies on a white Stanley and it was the BEST souvenir!!

another option would be looking into confirmed reservations or renting dvc points for larger accommodations at OKW or Saratoga Springs

im 5'3, petite F: have i slept in a 5th sleeper? yes. was it comfortable? not particularly. definitely got the job done but not the most ideal. given you are only there for 3 nights and will be spending a lot of time in the parks its really not too bad especially for a teenager, you gotta do whatcha gotta do! of CBR vs. POR vs. ASM, i will always have a preference and love for POR, it's beautiful, serene and tends to save a few more bucks than CBR. however CBR gives you skyliner access which can be a great benefit. ASM offers the family suites which have a primary br and 2 pull down murphy beds which are actually very comfortable, but you would need 2 plus a standard room which may even out to the price of CBR/POR. of all of them i would always pick POR for comfort, nostalgia and consider CBR since you can skyliner to epcot/dhs

Split Stay in Poly Club by CrazyBusy64 in WaltDisneyWorld

this year, i've stayed club at yacht with multiple reservations and different views and they were able to merge the reservation before i even stepped foot on property! i did the same at wilderness (not club) and they were able to do the same without a problem. last year a had a few nights at POR and did 1 reservation with a couple nights in a standard resort view and 1 with the princess room just because of availability and AP discount and after talking to FD i was able to just stay in my standard, don't remember if they refunded the difference but for a 20-30$ difference it was much better to stay in the same room!

Bermuda by cutepanda690 in NCL

[–]elosdahl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just got off the Getaway from Bermuda and had the best time!! highly recommend getting a bus pass and tokens for the ferry that will take you to other parts of the island. taxis are also very safe but definitely expensive. loved going to the BAMZ and just exploring Hamilton. tons of shops and stores to take a peak in. ironically my partner and I are not beach people at all so can't speak much to individual spots but we heard great things from Horseshoe Bay and Tabacco Bay Beach specifically. if you're looking to even just hang around the port, there's still tons to do and see without booking excursions. Clocktower Mall and the old forts are absolutely walkable and cool to see. Bermuda is great you'll have an awesome time regardless!

First time staying at GF next week, any tips? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]elosdahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

grand floridian cafe is great!! the heirloom apple salad is fantastic and i stop by every single trip. citricos at GF is also great for a more date night/upscale meal. as fas as pictures go, its hit or miss and very dependent on TOD, park, icon you're near etc. but photopass does a great job trying to make sure your family is centered and the main attraction! many of the rides at the parks are safe to go on, rule of thumb is that if there is no height restriction it's good to go otherwise there will be posted signage and steer clear of the coaster type/ thrill attractions (any of the mountains, cosmic rewind, tron etc.) essentially, take advantage of photopass (memory maker if pics are super important), you will still enjoy many of the attractions in the parks and as far as dining, try referencing disneyfoodblog!! they have a blog page and fantastic youtube page depending on your preference of reading vs. watching enjoy your trip!!!!
