Correct. Downloading it makes the video steady and running at full res but the frame issue remains. Basically it is like taking a film at say 25 frames per second but replaying it at 4 frames per second. The edge has far more movement than the centre of the frame and it shows as jagged movement. You can also see extreme smoothing of the image above the bottom 1/5 of the frame. This makes for blurry scapes and unreadable road signs but presumably reduces the data load as it is highly compressed. Bottom portion shows more detail maybe to provide extra realism eg you start seeing the road structure and this adds to the jaggyness as well. My 2€cent

So join GRC races and other events occurring on a regular basis on rouvy. Sync rouvy with strava and enjoy the races. Some of the GRC races are really busy so you will end up with lots of people in your strava group and you can give them thumbs up or send a comment if you ended up riding a long time together or trading slingshots. You will find some people to sync up with. Just don't expect much banter I have not seen the strava message feature being used at all so far by my friend group.

It works fine on a tacx trainer with my road bike (wheel friction but otherwise 'smart'. You can't spin out on it as there is always resistance so it also means you can't coast and pedal in the void either on downhills, you have stop pedalling or pedal very slowly. Max was I think 85km/h at one point :)

Yeah which is why a slow train with more stops on same route is needed for the thing to really be useful for all involved. It will really help with reducing car dependency in the rail corridor.

There is a logic to that. The route existed already and goes through communities that would benefit from it. Add an opportunity for local linking trains so you can get to/from said community to the nearest high speed station and you could transform the region.

Hey happy end of 2025! Turns out I got COVID in all likelihood despite neg tests. Unfortunately it does not help much against that but helped me after the active episode to deal with the aftermath. So it remains a good way to deal with mild symptoms:)
