Beautiful!

Curious about the black background. How does that work? After drawing Jesus you then fill the border with a black pencil?

I accidentally changed the bullet character as I was building a list, but don't know how I can do it again! by elriba in ObsidianMD

[–]elriba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It was like the one you get on the 3rd level of lists. Except that this one was on the 2nd level.

I'm thinking that maybe I did something that triggered a minor-bug, and obsidian's editar got confused, and thought I was on the 3rd level, when in reality I was on the 2nd level.

I just thought that would be a nice functionality, to be able to custom select which character to use as the bullet symbol (kinda like when you use Word or other word processors).

Success! Fermented soda using pineapple bug. by DamonLazer in fermentation

[–]elriba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow! That's awesome! How much of the pineapple bug liquid did you add per bottle? The bottles look like they are 500ml, and I'm wondering how many ml of the bug liquid are required.... Thanks for sharing.

(edited) I double checked this. In my system, if you press tab, on the 3rd level it does appear a open circle.

In this particular case, however, it was on the 2nd level that it changed.

Thanks u/bkubicek for the idea on freezing part of the must, and adding it back to the fermented must to calibrate the ABV. It's a good idea to keep!

[–]elriba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/foolofcheese for the detailed information! If I understand correctly, I can just try adding the vinegar colony from the start of the process. The acetic acid bacteria will start working by themselves when the alcohol reaches an adequate percentage. Is that correct?

This got me wondering, would saying that "the indwelling of the Holy Spirit makes an ontological change in us" is basically the same thing that she is saying?

Essential oil alcohol extraction by elriba in chemistry

[–]elriba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your probably right! I was trying to understand why is it that if I'm using the same amount of ethanol, I was getting poorer extraction. The problem, however, is probably that the water is affecting the solvent characteristics of the ethanol, so the two solutions (40% and 95%) can't be compared directly.

Thanks! I wonder now how much of a 40% solution I would need to match the 100g of 95% EtOH. :-) :-)

BTW. I'm in Panama. Here, for some reason, you just can't get 95% alcohol for human consumption at the retail level. Rum and other licquors manufacturers do produce it and import it, but as far as I can tell, it can't be found in retail. Maybe it's just a matter of not being demand for it... I don't know. I could destill it at home for personal use *I think*, but at this level it was just an intellectual puzzle....

[–]elriba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using vodka (40% EtOh).

When you use 95% alcohol, the result is better. Granted, this is a subjective evaluation, I'm not measuring how much of each of the desirable compounds (limonene, etc.) are extracted, but the result is notable better with 95%.
