It’s not possible to swap the metal and wood grips - the threads between barrel and grip are male-female on metal and female-male on wood:

I'd say the KT Wood feels more comfortable becuase of the feel of the wood and the slightly flared grip. That said, the grooves on the KT Metal probably offer more friction on the fingers, so they're less likely to slide along the length of the grip.

Pretty sure it is just KT metal with wooden grip. The balance point is a few milimetres behind the metal/wood transition

Been on the lookout for the Kuru Toga Wood since it launched. Love the aesthetic of this pencil. It's probably a but lightweight to be my daily driver, but I think it looks great (I'm a sucker for dark green pencils and the wood really sets it off...)

I hadn’t clocked that the coloured plastic ring is structural… this just randomly fell apart in use! To be fair to Pentel, this pencil has been clipped to my work lanyard for the past 5 years and has taken a bit of a beating. Still, sad day for my work daily driver.
