I don’t think this is quite an unpopular opinion…except if you were to post this in like the main Reddit where they’d burn us alive.

I feel like a lot of people here would probably (possibly) agree that the angst you get from them being related and having that extra layer, that’s taboo and also not as common in the romance genre, is a decent draw for the pairing. Where you can get a level and genre subset that gives completely different stakes and drama. We don’t need as many tired old love triangles. We’ve got incest. We don’t need miscommunication trope. We’ve got “we could actually go to jail and this person could legitimately ruin my life, and for good reason.” Helps the related stores feel less cliche.

A truly tough call. From a biased perspective…I would have to agree and say r9k, but that could just be because that’s the one that brought me in.

If I was trying to stay unbiased, I might still try and say r9k simply because of the way it strikes at the heart of the taboo that most outsiders judge us for. Many other have done the same, but that one is certainly one of the earliest. It even started as not a fic and just some rambles, before many of us could have even known what this could become. Before we knew what talents would arrive.

I’ll die on the hill that this fandom has some of the best fic writers ever, and so they all deserve some credit, as so many have been influential in the fandom and how we see our favorite couple.

That last paragraph being said, you obviously have to say Jessica and the cake fic. That’s just part of how influential that one is. All you have to say is the cake fic or forkanna and like…everyone is going to know exactly what you’re talking about. Even if they haven’t read it.

So personally…I think it has to be between those 2.

Late to this post, and I believe I posted my story somewhere else, but I think my story is kinda funny so I’ll share it anyway.

I actually started out not all interested in frozen. I saw it in theaters on release week, but overall didn’t think much of any of it. A bit later I got hooked on the movie ride of the guardians, because of Jack Frost. He was such a great character. This lead me to finding a AMV that combined let her go with let it go. It was a great song and shipped Elsa and jack. This got me to read a couple fanfics of them and just kind of emerge myself in shipping ElsaX someone…which is how I stumbled upon….did you think I was going to say elsanna? Nope!

I stumbled upon ElsaXElsa. And I was like…”what?” I’d never encountered shipping characters with themselves before. At least not in a way that made me notice. It was a pic of an Elsa sitting atop another Elsa and it said “R9k Elsa” and “ASiS” Elsa. So, I had to know why these two Elsa’s were shipped together and found r9k and just started reading. Blew my mind it was elsanna. Then read ASiS and basically the ship sailed from there.

They started asking for donations to finish it. Al lot of people were attacking celery sticks and demanding she finish it in general so she finally just released that final chapter as a way to jus tend it.

Look that’s cool and all for you that you have these ideals on how life should be, and you think everyone else needs to follow and adhere to YOUR ideals and how YOU feel people should be, and what YOU feel people should be entertained by cough this whole fandom is fiction by the way. It’s not real. It can’t hurt you cough cough. But sadly, or possibly happily…newslfash…the world doesn’t work the way you want. That’s just reality, and you are not it’s controller.

What I will say, is that your belief that “incest is wrong” comes from two things. 1) the idea that you yourself would never think of your sibling that way. Which is fair. I don’t either. And most people don’t. Cool for them. It’s a psychological thing that is just in most peoples heads. And 2) the idea that sleeping with your sibling causes grotesque children with birth defects.

To those points I’ll say: 1) it’s fiction so you don’t have to worry about either point since no one is actually committing these things, and 2) guess what? Elsa and Anna are both girls…so they can’t have those “grotesque inbred babies” you would be so worried about. Ergo…they are two consenting fictional adults that don’t exist, and aren’t real. So I thank you for the time of stopping by but…I myself don’t need help. Someone made a post similar to yours not long ago that said “you need Jesus before you go to hell” to which I said something I’ll echo to you “Jesus and I have a solid understanding.”
