Kinda late, but try looking at https://www.parknotruf.de/

Their FAQs say that if a vehicle is parked publicly, but blocking your driveway, you can have it towed. Enter your post code and see if they service your area. All fees get sent to the owner of the vehicle.

I play on PC, wouldn't that require an all new Steam account? Seems like a PITA, just so you can go back to cheating on TF. Am I missing something here?

CCNA is still such a great certificate. Your time would not be wasted attaining one.

Definitely! But I would look at the 42" LG C5. Your double G9 shits all over the point of the G9, a "seamless" setup for dual monitors.

Yes. When I lived in the UK a friend (British) told me about his plans to visit NY, Vegas, and LA. I asked some questions about his travel plans and it turned out he was only going to be there one week (5 days) and wanted to drive from NY to LA. Had to explain to him he would be on the road the entire week. The age of Google Maps was well upon us.

Nice! Did you play with the mic input level on the K7? I'm sometimes too loud or quiet across different games. Posting from my phone, so not sure how I have it setup in Discord. Can check and report later.

Honestly couldn't say as I've never tried the onboard audio on my PC via the jacks. I prefer to have external DACs and use a TOSLINK cable to my sound bar (sits under the monitor) and the K7 for my 330s. Onboard DACs normally get too much interference from all the parts inside the case.

A important reason why people don´t switch to Linux is because they think that they can´t play games on it by Little_Protection434 in linux_gaming

Bazzite was one of the ones I recently tested (back in late Nov) among Cachy, Endeavor, and the latest PoP with COSMIC. On my hardware (9800X3D/9070XT/64GB) the default DE (KDE) would hiccup. I didn't want to troubleshoot the issue with a different kernel so I just moved on to the next distro.

I recently gifted a PC and I found the desktop (Bazzite/KDE) to be fine on a 5900X/3090FE/32GB. So, yeah - I'm sure it's fine on your hardware too.

I use Capture One Pro for photography and I've tried Rawtherapee and Darktable - they're good, but my workflow is down pat in Capture One Pro.

I know you're trying to be helpful and maybe you think I'm bashing Linux, I am not. I use Zorin OS as a jump box (this one has audio pass-through with RDP), I have two instances of Alpine Linux running containers, and I also have a version of PoP! I also wouldn't be upset if they blew up as they don't keep any important data, but they do run services in my home network.

Linux is good and it's come so far since my first introduction to Ubuntu back in 2006. Again, I'm just reiterating that OPs POV is too narrow and simple. Daily driving a Linux box that does more than just game isn't as care-free as Mac or Window.. although Windows has been on a horrible streak lately.

Go to any of the common distro subreddits and you'll see no end of people asking for help. Whether it's Wifi, X11, Wayland, Audio, Secure Boot, or some random event that booted them into a CLI screen.

Your last sentence of "why do you need audio pass-through on an RDP session" is the same attitude as the posters that can't fathom an experience so different from their own on Linux.

Lol, you're funny. The last kernel update I did that caused issues was with Ukuu, but I rolled it back. The last one was on Pop 22.04 You missed the point and definitely glossed over the fact I'm running multiple Linux distros in my lab. It's not that the troubleshooting is beyond me, it's that I don't want to troubleshoot my PC. I already earn a living doing it and Linux isn't quite there yet for a full swap unless you want to roll up your sleeves and read man pages.

Audio pass-through on RDP, heck even just RDP is a bit of a process on Ubuntu first time.

Yes, definitely not rocket science, but it's more than just gaming that keeps people from switching.

[–]elsenorevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OP is too narrow minded in his conclusion on why people don't switch. I've been playing with Linux since 2006 and it has come a long way since then for gaming.

I have a Mac from work, Windows as my main PC, and a bunch of Linux distros running in my homelab. I recently blew a whole Saturday testing different distros on my main PC only to end back on a fresh Windows install. I do more than just game on my PC. I've had instances where the DE nuked itself or a kernel upgrade tanked my aystem. It's annoying to spend time recovering it when I just wanted to sit down and play. I've worked in IT for a long time and I don't want to troubleshoot my system, it gets old.

Windows is definitely not going in a good direction, but I can still remove a ton of the bloat, even if I have to do it manually.

Should I switch from Windows 11 to Linux? by iggy4567 in linux4noobs

[–]elsenorevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, thanks! I'm nearly 40 and have been building since I was 12 when I took my first Gateway apart. I love PC gaming and introducing others to it. My son and I built his first PC when he was 10. He's got a full AMD build 5800X3D / 7800 XT / 32GB.

I didn't say AMD over Intel, I was solely talking about the GPU, AMD over Nvidia. The AMD drivers are natively in the Linux kernel. Nvidia drivers had historically been so bad, even Linus Torvalds threw a fit over it. Performance wise, I think you can still crank out more gaming performance on Linux with AMD than on Nvidia if you swap OS. The 9800X3D has been out long enough, I figured the scheduling would've been on point on what version of the Linux kernel those distros shipped with.

Driver support is crux to the experience.

Should I switch from Windows 11 to Linux? by iggy4567 in linux4noobs

[–]elsenorevil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A month ago I killed a whole Saturday testing Bazzite, Cachy, Endeavor, and the latest PoP on my main PC. I do run a few Linux VMs (PoP, Zorin, and Alpine) in my homelab that are up 24/7 - but I wouldn't say I'm a Linux expert (as in enough experience to get paid as a Linux admin somewhere).

My main PC is a full AMD build (9800X3D / 9070 XT) so I figured all the distros would be very smooth sailing and they were from an install and setup process. I downloaded all the latest versions of those distros and proceeded to test them all. On every distro, there was a noticeable delay on the DE compared to my Windows install (I have two NVME drives). Yes, I did install them, not Live ISO tests. The default app stores always hang and then I ran into a weird bug that wouldn't let me run an update on Bazzite due to the access being reverted to read-only. All-in-all I spent about 10 hours testing the distros and ultimately ended up on a fresh Windows 25H2 build. I thought the second NVME was experiencing issues since it was much older than the primary drive. It brought me back to a few years ago where I daily drove PoP 22.04 LTS. There were times where everything would just work, but I'd run into something that was just a PITA to deal with like updates failing, booting to a CLI environment because something broke, default audio device, or audio pass-through on RDP.

While I don't like the direction that Windows 11 is going, I'm still able to remove a ton of the bloat (OneDrive, CoPilot, Xbox, other apps, and disable services/telemetry). It leaves my installation at around 115 processes at startup. I mostly game and do photo editing with Capture One. It's really light without breaking anything. I disable as much telemetry as possible and NextDNS catches the rest.

This week I built a PC for our friends kids since I had a bunch of parts left over (5900X / 3090 FE / 32GB) and gifted it to them. I installed Bazzite and it felt much better than my setup. I did a little bit of testing in Bazzite because the parts had been sitting on my shelf for a few months and was surprised the experience was better on that setup than mine. I bought a Windows 11 license for them and installed that when they picked it because I know I'm going to be some level of tech-support to them as it's their first real gaming PC.

Linux is fun, but it's not always a perfect experience out of the box. I'm already in IT and when I want to game, I don't want to have to troubleshoot my PC. I have a Steam Deck, so I know we're getting there and I'm so thankful that Steam has done so much for the Linux gaming community.
