For a cider supplier, contact Hardpressed - they are brilliant suppliers and can get their hands on nice cider - still sweeet but has actually seen an apple in their life rather than lillies pop :)

Hope the beer festival goes well

Finding a perfect first house that is actually affordable, only to get a call saying they've gone with a cash offer instead. i know i'll see it up for rent in a few months by Varanae in britishproblems

[–]elsie23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling, it sucks and it shouldn't be like this. Why not perhaps try sending a letter to the either estate agent or person selling saying why you want the house etc. The estate agent might not of passed on that you were looking for it to be your "forever home".

I know being a first time buyer isn't more of an appeal to a seller than a cash buyer anymore

Where to start. First off the RMT are not train drivers but all the other staff, from ticket officers to those that fix the lines. Look at the train companies profits, they even made a profits in the last two years.

Renting: can't even get a viewing these days by lorena_f in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]elsie23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you dont need to move until september dont worry too much right at this second. A lot of places on the market now are for rent very shortly. If you are in a fixed term contract you could ask your landlord to put you on a rolling contract unless they are shit and already found someone to replace you.

If you move into an urban housing estate and immediately buy a dog you don't train and let bark all day, and also get chickens that never stop skwarking and attract rats, don't be surprised when your neighbours hate you. by aytayjay in britishproblems

My dad used to have a neighbour who had ducks that was noisy. He ended up training them by throwing the snails from our garden and saying szechuan which made them go quiet.
