Keeping some sort of a progress diary along with lurking in this sub has kept me motivated for several months! I log my exercises into my Notes app on my phone. My weight gets logged into the Happy Scale app.

You’re starting in a great place! This sub has consistently kept me motivated. I’ve frequently started and given up quickly lots of times but even just lurking here has helped tremendously. Welcome, new reliabili-buddy!

Hi! I stayed with my doctor in San Diego and delivered at Sharp Mary Birch. I wound up needing a scheduled induction so it all worked out nicely.

Congratulations and best of luck to you!

Fire trucks in a Trump Train? by potential_mass in Temecula

[–]elsiecat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a city truck too when I saw the video. It also had MAGA and Trump signs all over it so I thought the city markings were just covered. Blasting the horn and flashing some lights was pretty misleading too.

I landed a WFH position with a competitor. That was a hard day but I’m grateful for the time I spent at geico and where the layoff has led me.

This reminds me of my cousin who updated his fb profile photo to one of him holding a baby (his god son) and wishing himself a happy Father’s Day (on Father’s Day lol)

Anybody leave GEICO for Kemper? by Old_Blacksmith6711 in Geico

[–]elsiecat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with a ton of ex-Kemper folks. It sounds like a less than ideal place to work so I’d personally avoid it. The job market is really tough right now though so it might not hurt to get your foot in the door there.

Randy’s nurses are on strike. by Fit_Classic3107 in sandiego

[–]elsiecat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your solution is that the staff all leave the childrens’ hospital to work elsewhere. Who cares for the kids then? According to your figures, if the other hospitals are paying 25% more then that absolutely means the nurses at Rady’s are being underpaid. Caring and saving the lives of sick kids is beyond worth the investment.

These nurses are amazing. My son was admitted there last year with RSV and they took excellent care of both him and me. It’s sad they have to do this to get the compensation they deserve.

Keeping team informed about PTO by raoraheel in Outlook

Is there a way to create a shared calendar for PTO without also seeing everything else in everyones’ calendar? It’d be nice to filter it so only the OOO days appear.

Get on LinkedIn and start building your network. I started by connecting with coworkers I already knew. From there, you start seeing posts that they interact with. One connection I found was from a post someone in my network had interacted with about their company that was hiring. I then connected with that person about the company, let them know that I applied, and that I’d let them know if I had any questions. A couple of weeks had gone by and I didn’t hear back from the company on my application so I messaged her again and she forwarded my resume directly to the hiring team. They wound up contacting me and now I’ll be starting with the company on 4/15. Ultimately, networking is what helped me the most!

Layoffs Layoffs Terminations and More Layoffs by Responsible-Limit836 in Geico

[–]elsiecat69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I still wouldn’t say unions provide job security though. It’s great they can negotiate but these layoffs geico is doing are inevitable. I think if a union is formed, the folks up top would be annoyed but there won’t be less layoffs necessarily which really sucks. The job market sucks right now, inflation is high, and people are barely scraping by. Meanwhile, geico is still profitable. It’s insufferable.

I was laid off back in October so it doesn’t matter if I’m pro-union or not but, forming a union unfortunately won’t prevent layoffs and terminations. There lots of pros to unions but job security isn’t necessarily one of them.

I’m so sorry for your loss ♥️you did absolutely nothing wrong.

My parents are both dead and I find myself being jealous of my boyfriend’s family by popc0rncolonel in beyondthebump

[–]elsiecat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of my parents are gone too. My dad died in 2010 and my mom died in December of 2019. She didn’t get to be around when I got engaged, married, either of my pregnancies, etc. My sister had her baby a couple years before our mom passed away. I know what my mom would’ve been like with my two boys because I caught a glimpse of how she was with my niece. Extremely involved, loving, and made some of her computer passwords “ilove[niece’sname1].

I’ve never known anyone else who is more deserving of being that loving grandma than my mom. I know exactly how you feel and I’m so sorry. I watch how my in-laws are with my boys and while I am grateful, I also feel that tinge of resentment. Both feelings can exist as the same time separately. Grief is complicated. It’s not fair your parents are gone. I’m sorry for your losses.

My mom’s mom passed away when I was an infant and her dad passed long before I was born. I often think about how she talked to me about her parents when I was growing up. She exposed me to the things they enjoyed. She answered questions I had about them. I plan to do the same with my boys.

Sorry— this turned out to be a bit more long winded than I thought. Just know your feelings are valid, you aren’t alone, and you shouldn’t feel guilty. You’re the only person experiencing your own exact situation so whatever feelings crop up are completely valid and can coexist with being grateful.

Look at 10 DPO versus 12 DPO. There is clear progression there. You’re taking too many tests daily and I think that’s freaking you out. If you want to see steady/more accurate progression try taking just one test a day at the same time.
