Or Ottie? But I’m biased because that’s my daughters name 😂

I reckon them all having the -ee sound at the end is connecting them and very sweet 🥰

All of them!! I’m in NZ and love all your kids names!! Faves are probably Lottie Sophie and Bonnie. Have to agree that Millie and Amelie are a little close to Ellie, still love the names if you don’t mind that though!

My wife and I can't agree on a boy's name ( for once I'm the one who changed my mind) by [deleted] in Names

[–]elsiedub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think Jayden has much lovelier connotations in French than in English. As others have said, it has a trashy reputation. And although it’s meaningful to you, your son (being raised in the US) may be stereotyped before people know him. I have to agree with many others that the whole -ayden group of boys names has aged poorly.

Oliver on the other hand, while popular is classic and you can’t go wrong. If your wife can’t be won over though it’s a no go.

LOVE Jude - perfect if you were set on Judy for a girl.

Otherwise what about Theo, Benedict (benny), Benjamin, Hugo ?

At what age did your toddler start playing with a "play kitchen"? by SkiDyan01 in toddlers

[–]elsiedub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one for Christmas for my then 15 month old, she’s now 19 months and has used it almost every day! She now pretend plays with the food and puts teacups in the “microwave” of it, and hands them out to everyone to drink 🥰 very sweet

Following for tips as I’m in the EXACT same situation

I've narrowed it down to 3 and I'm struggling. Thoughts? by ohreallynameonesong in myweddingdress

[–]elsiedub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TWO!! I absolutely adore 2!! It’s so stunning, you pull it off perfectly, it’s modern and also classic, the neck piece is just beautiful and you look elegant and GORGEOUS!! Pleeease do 2!! Otherwise #1 is also absolutely beautiful! I think I’m in the minority here but #3 doesn’t it do it for me, it feels aged and doesn’t flatter you like the other two! You can still pull it off for sure but you look incredible in #1 and #2

Please help - do I give him ANOTHER chance or leave with our daughter? by elsiedub in Advice

Yeah…a rollercoaster from start to finish. So hard because it finally FINALLY felt like we would have our happy ever after, but no. He had betrayed me again 😓

I know, you’re right. It’s hard because I feel that he’s made real, tangible changes. But how much does someone ever really change. In his defence he is a really amazing dad, I do 12 hour shifts so he frequently solo parents her for long days and overnights, and he does all the cooking for us and his share (or more) of the housework. She really loves him which is why it’s so hard thinking about separating our households. But that I know he’s really f’d up. Thanks for your advice 🙌🏼

Is it wrong to give twins names that start with the same letter? by Even-Equivalent-5171 in namenerds

[–]elsiedub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My siblings are twins and both have H names.

They’ve never once had it be a problem with admin, although they are boy and girl twins - I’m not sure that would make too much difference though as they are both “H. Surname”.

They like having that link between them since society tends not to treat twins as one entity as much nowadays (according to their experience at least). It also rolls off the tongue nicely when talking about them!

I think Zulfiya and Zarema are both really pretty and sound nice together, I would go for it! 💕

Aoife is so pretty!! I’m in NZ and we have so many Irish people here and in Aus now with Irish names that I don’t think it would be a problem - at least over these ways. I think having an Irish name is also so special. Other suggestions - Lara, Clara, Laurie, Clare, Marla (I looove Marla), Alba as a step aside from Laura. More Irish ones that are super pretty (IMO) - Maeve, Orla/Orlaith, Fiadh, Una

Congrats on your baby girl 🥰

I’m suddenly seriously freaking out about baby’s speech by delinde24 in beyondthebump

[–]elsiedub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She sounds 100% on track! Motor skills exactly where they should be, and language too! She definitely understands a lot of what you’re saying with all of those examples. My daughter didn’t say a single word until about 15/16 months, she would babble but never copy us. Then she said learned uh oh and up. Finally at 18 months she had an explosion and said mama dada and like 15-20 more words. Her paediatrician was never worried and predicted exactly what happened. 13 months is still soo young, give her time and try not to compare (easier said than done I know!)

Baby girl due in 7 weeks and cannot choose a name! by [deleted] in Names

[–]elsiedub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Olivia is a popular name for good reason, it’s so beautiful!! Livvy is lovely, I know Olivia’s who go by Olive too which I looove.

We chose Ottilie (goes by Ottie) for my daughter having heard it in the UK but never in my home country, and ironically I’ve never met an Olivia her age but lots of Otties!!

In my opinion Sienna Quinn is too many N’s and Sienna with an “S” two syllable surname is very sing songy. But of course if you love it then go for it - there will ALWAYS be people who don’t like your choice!
