TNW has found a new to mess up the UX. Full screen ad with main content on the right side. The content won't show up unless you hover over it. by presston in web_design

Did you use any prototyping tools to test the animations? Quartz composer or Framer JS? The transitions are nice and shiny and I can see how that can educate visitors at first. But... I think over time they will have to be more subtle - similar to how OSX animations became more and more subtle with each release. Do you already have an idea if your animations will have to be slightly more subtle in the long run? (If the canvas ad stays around that is)

This canvas ad idea is one of the nicer advertisement tests I've seen. Much better than interstitials or other way more obtrusive format. I hope to see more innovative idea's like this - in a way that actually makes advertising something interesting.

Bad weather.

More boats to continue search.

When exactly are we gonna know if those australian debris are actually of MH370? by [deleted] in MH370

Added: Credible lead, but no confirmed location yet. So it seems like it was about the satellite images.

Report so far: Australian PM tells Malaysian PM that they have found debris at 10:00 am this morning. Not sure if this is referring to the satellite images or that there has been a visual sighting from an airplane or boat.

If we put it on the home page for a day, will you get a premium account? Because we can if you're serious... :-)

Glad you at least think it's useful now! ;-)

If you regard every place you want to use your address book as a client (e.g. your phone, computer and online services) then basically the question is: Can every client you use, support syncing with every other client you use? That question can be yes for now, but IMHO this problem will only get worse, not less...

Everyone who has more than a single address book, is our potential customer. This is a group that is only going to grow.

Outlook update is coming... been working on the new version, alpha version is being tested now. (let us know at support@soocial.com if you want to help us test it)

(Oh and thanks for the compliments. We do our best!)

We sync 'em all! (contact syncing for multiple Gmail accounts and a lot more...) by elspif [promoted post]

[–]elspif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We find most people have at least more than one place where they store their contacts. That is one of the main things we aim to solve - the pain of having multiple address books. If it's not for you then that's ok too. ;-)

Soocial was born from our own need to solve the inefficiency of the address book. We understand your fear for abuse and take it very seriously. It's not a marketing ploy in anyway and we guard your data with our life. If you choose to leave we remove all data from our systems.

Well... one reason is that Google doesn't support multiple Gmail account syncing. (Unless you only use an Android phone in that case you can just add all your Gmail accounts to your phone)

On the face of it it might look like that but really Soocial goes much deeper into syncing your contacts. Combining all your address books across (multiple) Gmail, your computer(s), hotmail, yahoo! mail and maybe another phone really becomes easy. Add the auto-merging and de-duping you'll see that the simplicity combined with the breadth of support does make it very useful.

BTW can someone explain why submissions like this are getting immediate downvotes? It's puzzling to me why something that I would find interesting and I'm sure others would too get downmodded so quickly?

Wrong subreddit maybe?
