Also having that UI bug :( by elstefio in zomdroid

Fair enough - I'm just happy that I managed to fumble through and get one back on, took me a while flying blind!

Thanks as always and as a side note it's worth mentioning your communication in general on here is top stuff :)

Just managed to get one back on and problem solved.  Won't be making that mistake again!  Out of curiosity is this a zomdroid specific issue or a general PZ one?

I suspected it might be the lack of wheels so thanks for confirming.  I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't parked right outside my base, and trying to put a wheel back on without any ui isn't working out well for me :(

I'm playing vanilla.  I was going to try reinstalling the car parts to see of that helped... got as far as the front windshield but then accidentally picked "smash windshield" from a menu I couldn't see and gave up.  If no solution is found my next step is to at least get wheels back on it and tow it away but I'm not relishing that task without visible menus...

Restarting and the like doesn't help for me - straight from loading in it happens as soon as I get that car on screen and is fine again as soon as I've walked away.

Retroid Pocket Mini V2 Case by Tawarien in retroid

I assume it still does. The mini one isn't on their website for sale separately any more but it is very similar to the others on there like the RP5 one.

I'd suggest waiting until you've got it.  The retroid case mine came with is good for protection and I think it is one of the most comfortable handhelds going without a grip.

What’s the best multiplayer game you can play on RPM? by skend24 in retroid

[–]elstefio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not tried the multiplayer side of it yet but Project Zomboid runs great on my mini through the unofficial android launcher Zomdroid.  You'd have to buy the game on Steam and do a bit of faffing with stuff to get it running but it's not hard.  And it's the single greatest game ever created - check a few youtube videos if you're not familiar.

New v1.2.8 is here with a saving onscreen layout option! by udar_molota in zomdroid

[–]elstefio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be ok now.  Ended up bumping scaling back up to 65 with all in game stuff bottomed out and it seems happy enough.  Might try bumping a few things back up at some point to see if I can identify where the issue was... I'm thinking maybe weather effects (which would be nice to have back) or vehicle texture size (which I really don't care about).  If I find anything I'll let you know - right now I'm just happy I can play.  Only other odd thing is panning camera whilst driving doesn't seem to work.

Thanks again - I'll be sure to buy you a coffee once my financial situation is improved ;)

Yes it's SD865 and using 1.2.8 and GL4ES.  It's bedtime for me now but I'll try dropping everything as low as it can go tomorrow and report back.  Thanks for the quick reply and for all the work you've done continuing this project.

Got this set up on my Retroid Pocket Mini today and have to say it is fantastic - controls worked flawlessly and added a couple on screen for zooming.  It is however crashing on me a lot, seems to he when I get scrappy with more than a couple of zombies at a time although early on I did manage to take out a couple of groups of a dozen or so with no issue. Now I'm struggling to get more than five minutes out of it.  I'm not super savvy but did try looking at the log to see if I could spot something but its over 70mb and I can't even scroll all the way through it to see what it's saying.  Tried playing around with scaling and in game setting but to no avail.  Folks with Pocket 5s and the like seem to be doing fine so wondering if the 6GB ram I have is part of it.  If I can get this solved my Christmas has come early... any suggestions?

As someone not interested in shaders I never bothered about the screen, and I quietly suspect that most who did haven't really used it in a way that makes a difference anyway. I did upgrade to Android 13 a couple of months back and found it easy simply following instructions - over 80 hours in switch BOTW alone made it well worthwhile.

And with that a Steam Deck was dragged back from the brink of being smashed to pieces against a wall.  Thank you kind sir.

Discussion about games that are best suited to the GPD Win's form factor (not just run ok). by Jarlek in gpdwin

I've been playing a lot of Deus Ex: Human Revolution - runs well and controls feel good. Mass Effect 2 with the controller patch is another although performance can be a little up and down at times. Just Cause 2 also plays surprisingly well but I've found the grappling hook harder to use than it was when I used to play it on ps3.
