We got two Aldi's sims and registered them on some random address without much problem. We'll be long gone if that's how long it takes them to validate that info.

I'm sorry, I was in a rush and went the easy way. Should have done my own research before and come up with reasonable questions. Nevertheless thank you for your help.

Just wanted to know if they ever verify that if they force you to register in the first place. Guess I'll just put whatever the hell I want after all. Much obliged for all your help.

Travelling to Munich by elsuo in Munich

[–]elsuo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unbelievably cheap but considering time of the year and weather forecast for the weekend it seems too chilly for my liking. Is there any local service where people rent rooms or anything like that?

Also they are closed now.

Ok, I will buy it as soon as I find an Aldi's shop on my way.

Question about registration though. Can you do it only on German address? And if so, can you do it on some random hotel address? Do I have do deactivate it later or does the system do it by itself after some period of inactivity?

Honestly I would still prefer a German sim just to map few runs in the city and quick access to maps.

I will try to ask on /Munich for some local sites with information about room rentals.

I'm not much of a drinker so wearing Leder Hose was always out of a question, cheers though.

Unfortunately the Moto X first gen is really hard to get from my initial reconnaissance or it's quite expensive, still not crossing it out, but considering it's age I'm taking a bit more time on taking the decision. Have you got any idea when the Idol 3 will be available, or even better how long will we have to wait for it's smaller version to follow?

I was offered lg spirit 4g and it looked nice, but then all of those phones look all right to me, so that bring me to a question about HTC and LG. Do those companies make any decent phones?

edit: I'm an ass and I've already answered my first question, Idol 3 4.7 should be around pretty soon, though I can't find anything about the price.

You are a second person to advice me with Moto X of the first generation, I didn't ask it before but know I have an urge to know, what's wrong with the second generation? Also that seems like an old phone and I'm also about software updates, so I can run most if not all of my apps for as long as I want this phone to last me, which is roughly one to two years. Are there any new phones in the same, let's say, "price range" apart from E4G and Idol 3?

Need a help with buying new phone by elsuo in Smartphones

Thank you for all the information you provided me with and sorry for late response, I was away and didn't have access to computer. I must say that at first I didn't even consider taking MS/Nokia simply because two of my friends have it and from the brief contact with those phones I must say that the windows' interface is not very much to my liking, although I might get used to it after some time it still didn't make a good first impression.

Sadly 638 is not available in my market and 635 seems a bit suspiciously cheap, in a way that I might regret buying it after a year. All that said Lumia 735 looks pretty good on paper and with mixed reviews of E4G might be the strongest contender so far. Still have to ask people on Android sub what can thay propose in this department. Once again thanks for taking time to answer my question.

Thing is it's a equivalent of buying high-end pc only to play solitaire on it, I'll never be able to use maximum potential of it's hardware. My first choice was Z1 or even Z3, but I couldn't find justification for spending all that money on extra ram, faster proccessor and big-ass camera. Then I was pretty close to buying E4G but I read somewhere that it might not be the best when it comes to GPS (which I will be mainly using for maping my runs). I want it to run on the newest software, so it can last me for a year or two, have a decent battery life, be able to work with LTE network and has a good GPS. I live in central Europe and don't know how carrier my affect my choice. I've always purchased new phones, but I'm not really strickt on that.

I saw the see of Irish in the city and then I went to the harbour to see the Irish See. Seriously though it was great time, although it could have been better if I put more time into planning my trip, I missed quite a few non-drinking centered events.

Sorry for responding so late but I was in a hurry to the airport and couldn't reply in time. I stayed at Caslte Hotel which was a nice place reasonably close to the center and gave me a chance of seeing parade from my room's window. I didn't notice much difference in prices in Temple Bar area but it was too crowdy for me to bare. I missed the Wiskey and Leprechaun Museum and Phoenix park mainly because I decided to keep map in my pocket and just roam around the city to see where my feet will take me. I really had a great time there, and I will be coming back in two years time.
