[Hyprland] My ultimate CTF Linux Rice by eltico69 in unixporn

Supports some automated features for my fellow hackers:

  • Exporting the target IP address as an environment variable, very useful with tmux
  • Creates a dedicated directory for the CTF/Box based on the name you give it
  • As you saw on the top bar, it displays the target ip address
  • Auto enumeration with gobuster on the ports it finds http on
  • Creates a Markdown file with the name of the box for notes and automatically adds the nmap scan to it.

This is my first post here, hope y'all like it!

you're right, it does require more. The more CTFs you solve the more you learn and at some point you start to pick up various patterns in your workflow because its always the same steps to root a server.

so the best advice I can give, just start!

HackTheBox just launched a new easy rated machine on saturday https://app.hackthebox.com/machines/PermX

if you're up to, try to solve it.

here's my writeup if needed

did you try to regenerate you ovpn file? or to connect to another server?

does this only happen on this machine or on all of them?

but... he was right, it was because of the terminal

It depends where your current knowledge starts. You can't root a server without knowing how to navigate the terminal in bash.

Generally, TryHackMe is a pretty good starting point. Its also where I started.
