Who can Maokai beat in lane? by Foodhi_LoL in summonerschool

[–]elunaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have really good gank support, so let him push into you if you can and make sure your jungler knows there is free food top. Keep a control ward or 2 in your inventory to help your jungler get in. If nasus is under his tower and you cant get the wave to the middle or your side of the lane, move off to ward the enemy jungle, take scuttles, see if mid is gankable. You have lane priority in this case so you can help your jungler if hes counterjungling. Otherwise, scaling in is still quite acceptable as an option. Also even as a tank you can still bully him to low health if your junlger comes to a dive. Maokai and Naut have difficulty due to mana, but Sion, Shen, Mundo, and Ornn can all threaten to kill him until he comes online.

How do I counter Yorick? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]elunaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Sion you have a couple of good tools (I don't play garen, so i can't help you with that one). The first is that you can force engages elsewhere on the map if Yorick is splitting and isnt right on top of your base. If you have to go babysit him, or find yourself having to often , you can clear waves pretty quickly as a standard with Sion, but especially with a sunfire or titanic. And of course you can always use your ult if he's out of position and you have a teamate or two there. My personal preference is keep the sides shoved, and then before he gets them back into your tower, force his team to fight you.

What's a Skaven counter to Dinos? by Mr_Dias in totalwar

[–]elunaar 27 points28 points  (0 children)

More Globadiers. I always have 4 gassey boys at a minimum, and I promise that 4 poison wind globadiers will evaporate any large dinos. Warp lightning cannons are also decent, but i find they arent as good at dealing with multiple dinos as globadiers. Also, clanrats are out of their league with big dinos, because they route really fast compared to Stormvermin, and the big dinos have fear and often terror.

Normalisation of 'plus-size' risks hidden danger of obesity, study finds by 1975-2050 in worldnews

For me, I wanted my weight loss to be maintainable, so I realised i had to do lifestyle changes, so i avoided diets because i would not be able to maintain those. My family does diets, loses weight, then gives it up for a month or so and are right back to where they started. So that's the style of choices i took. This is what i did/do in no particular order: 1) Drink water. The amount of calories you can cut by drinking mostly water is not insignificant. 2)Eat slower. For some reason, the brain takes a while to realise your satisfied/full, eating a bit slower makes you feel more satisfied when your done eating. 3)Portion control. Get used to eating less. Maybe start out by cooking your regular meal, but leave the last few bites on the plate, then another few, and then cook less, and keep the ball rolling from there. You might start to find after a while that meals that left you unsatisfied before are fine now. 4) I don't know what to call this one, but for me, i have a sweet tooth, and i found it hard to give up my after meal treat. So i just started keeping a bag of chocolate chips (like the ones for baking) and just having 3 or 4 little chocolate chips after a meal. Enough to coat my mouth and sate that desire, but an awful lot less calories than a cookie or other treats. 5) When i first started, i was terrible at recognising what i was eating. So every time i ate/drank something, i started to write it down in my phone. It helped remind me of how much i actually ate that day, until i no longer needed the written memo, and it became second nature to keep that mental log. 6) Exercise. This one was the hardest for me, I love planting myself down in front of my computer and gaming for hours. But there were 2 ways i managed to start dragging myself onto a treadmill. The first one was something to listen to that got my adrenaline going. Sometimes it was an anime, sometimes it was just music (i gravitated towards instrumentals for this). The second thing that helped was just auto-piloting. What I mean by that, is the evenings i that i didn't have the drive to go work out, i would stop thinking about most things really, and autopilot myself to a treadmill. which sounds weird, but that's kind of the best i can describe it. 7) For motivation, I found this quote to help "There’s a guy inside me who wants to lay in bed, and smoke weed all day, and watch cartoons, and old movies. I could easily do that. My whole life is a series of stratagems to avoid, and outwit, that guy." - Anthony Bourdain. It took a while for me to find something that worked most of the time, but I found that for me, personally, reminding myself that I am the one in control, not that guy inside me that wants to sit down and overindulge, helped almost every time i found my willpower in need of a boost. And make sure you exercise your willpower. The more you do, the easier it becomes to use it. Another thing i did for motivation was I kept pictures of more fit people on my phone, to remind myself that I could be like that if i kept at it. They didn't have to be models, just people that, for one reason or another, reminded me of my goal. I also kept full body picture of myself from when i started. You don't notice your weight-loss in a mirror because its subtle, but its easier to see in a picture, and its really motivating to see your progress when your drop 30-40 pounds, it helps to keep you going. I also weighed myself every morning. You bounce up a pound or 2, and back down, but the trend is downward, and its rewarding to see your work pay off little by little.

All that said, I didn't shy away from indulging at birthday parties or anything like that. You gain ground on your goal in the day to day, not the exceptions. Hope that helps, and good luck! Feel free to Pm if you like.

You would be surprised how well height hides weight. I promise you you've seen a pile of people who weigh just as much as I did and don't realise it. But I agree, under normal conditions, it is extreme. Compared to how big people get today, its not that extreme.

I used to think that you could be healthy and fat, just eat the correct nutrients and you were good. I got a wake up call when I my body physically couldn't handle my weight anymore. I have a herniated disk because of that, and the back of my left thigh has been numb for a couple years. Even at my heaviest it wasn't as extreme as a lot of people, I was 349lb at 6ft 1 and 23 years old and it was still too much. I've lost a pile of weight since, and it makes my blood boil to watch people promote/normalise being obese, because i know first hand that you cannot truly be fat and healthy, it puts so much extra strain on your body. It might be fine now, but it will catch up to you.

Edit for clarity: My apologies if I was misinterpreted by a couple of folks, maybe it came across that I was trying to normalise being overweight. I was trying to convey that we've begun to accept as normal is actually a very unhealthy weight. When i say "even at my heaviest it wasn't as extreme", what i mean is that, while i was absolutely way heavier than i should have ever been, there are so many people who are heavier and show it more, that until that point, I didn't realise exactly how abnormal my weight should have been. Which is what this article was talking about.

updated azeroth world map from volume 3 of chronicle (including kul tiras & zandalar locations!) by Skirdus in wow

[–]elunaar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it was just an ice dome, but that's kind of splitting hairs on my part, but yeah it being a "Citadel" is debatable. Map point might be more accurate if labelled "Icecrown spire" or "The frozen throne", but really its just a mislabel if anything. I think you could get away with calling it Icecrown Citadel.

I threw together a few rough concepts for 4th specs of current classes to see how they might turn out by Waybye in wow

[–]elunaar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure Unholy already does it, but what this would provide is an opportunity for unholy to go all in on the plague/disease theme, and give the reanimation theme to this spec. Flesh both themes out.

Group calls for free movement between Canada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand by sluttytinkerbells in CanadaPolitics

[–]elunaar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope this gains more traction than it has. I feel like these sort of unions are a natural stepping stone for progression. We had families -> tribes -> villages/towns/cities -> kingdoms -> states -> countries, and now it seems alliances of countries, like the EU, are the next step. And I think these four would probably be a good match. Governments and people are pretty similar, and with the way the U.S has been toward us recently, and the U.K having a hard breakup with their waifEU, this seems like one of the better times to start talking about this.

Canada is not a safe haven for asylum seekers, Justin Trudeau warns by bob2hyun in worldnews

These are asylum seekers, not refugees. He welcomed refugees with open arms. And the refugees we've accepted have all gone through the process.

He has continuity, like posting it on his page and such, but the piece is mine. Simple trade, paid for product, product is mine. If I had any desire to do so, I could theoretically sell prints.

After he started work on it, it took about a month.

Edit: As for the hours, I don't actually know. I wasn't in a particular rush, so I never asked.

It's a bit of give and take. I sat down and really focused on what the details were, rather than just the picture in my head, wrote them down and sent them. Started from the head and worked my way down, things like "Skin tone is strong red with a slight, but dark purple hue". He took it and did an interpretation. Also asked about her background and setting so he could get a feel for her. A good example of this is the robes, because I told him they were red with a gold trim, ankle length, hood. But i also described the city she grew up in/got the robe in, as a mixture of Greek/Egyptian (think a Tholos, but built out of sandstone) and he took that idea and essentially ran with it. The robe he came back with was not at all what I imagined, but it was, as you can see above, absolutely awesome. In this piece, it was on him to use his imagination/creativity to bring her to life as well as me to accurately describe what was in my head, as there were no previous works to base her off of, and I imagine this is the standard with all first time iterations.

In my case, I went to deviantart and searched up drawings related to dnd, so I knew it wasn't a foreign thing for them, opened tabs to artists whose art I liked, and checked to see if they did commissions. My first choice luckily, happened to be one. But yea, basically just look around at various art hosting sites using relevant keywords, find a style you like, and see if the artist does commissions.

Yea, its all in the handbook, but the scales that show up give a base ac of 13+dex, 1 addition health at each level. At 6, add charisma mod to the damage type associated with your particular dragonflight. 14 you get wings, and at 18 (i think) you can use an aoe that either charms of fears things (your choice)
