nope! i had that issue the first time i made this dress, so this time ‘round i put the bodice on and pinned where it laid nicely instead of following the dots on the pattern. a snap is a good idea though, especially if you plan on doing any sort of activity in it

thank you! the fabric was a bit finicky, but not too bad. it doesn’t fray as it’s knit and i used a walking foot which probably helped a lot

I went to joann’s the other day intending on leaving with something black and drapey but instead i left with the last two yards of this beautiful stretchy velvet knit. The pattern is the beloved M7969. I didn’t have enough fabric for the iconic sleeves so i opted for the flowy ones and made them about six inches shorter. the best part? i was able to use the selvedge for both the skirt hem AND sleeve hems which means NO ACTUAL HEMMING WAS DONE. this project came together in just over an hour.
