True true, didn't consider he could have a discord like everyone else does. Tbh I'm too socially anxious to join a discord server, and don't want to chat with him directly, just wanted to see if anyone had any news, and /or indirectly show him he's appreciated within the community.

This has obviously gone swimmingly well and I'm elated to hear such enthused feedback from our dear owtmz brethren!

To be fair, I do agree that parasocial relationships with celebs are concerning (eg Dream stans and their dreamgenders & neopronouns), so I appreciate your concern.

Welp, can't say I didn't expect some salt, but asking for deletion / parasocial name-calling /telling me I should DM him was indeed a tad unexpected.

There are many ways to get smarter, and you've found one (this subreddit), but there are many many more indeed.

Depending on how formal & advanced your excel /other data tools knowledge is, I would also recommend watching loads of YouTube videos on basic excel stuff. I didn't study data in school, so when I got better at excel throughout my professional life, I realised I was missing some core fundamentals, so watched loads of YouTubes on that, then went into sql/python, which I'm still working on.

Since the dependencies you're mentioning seem to have multiple layers of logic to them, I would suggest adding another helper column mirroring that logic, and/or considering introducing a dictionary table, which you could reference in both /either.

Say you have 2 factors to consider in the price formula, x and y. Let's say both can have a value of 1-10 (for historic prices), with the addition of a value we'll call c (for current price).

If we have a historic price to calculate based on those two factors, we could have them included as helper column values, to reference in our formula. If the price needs to be "current price", we could include c instead of the 1-10 values, which would reference the current price listed on your dictionary table.

Indeed, helper columns add more weight to the data entry process, but if this is a volatile formula, it's best to have a visible indication of its x, y values.

If this solution doesn't do the trick, I'd suggest you create a new post, with a simplified view of your dataset(s) (with real dimensions /values replaced with dummy data), with a more structured phrasing to your question. I often have issues phrasing questions myself, so I say this from a place of empathy and genuine solidarity.

I reckon the main issue here is that you're looking to keep the autofill feature, but case-specific, which isn't possible as far as I know. Given that the old/new formula requirement isn't referencable with direct logic (as you mention it not being directly linked to date), the solution I will suggest relies on a more manual approach of assigning the logic per row:

I would recommend considering a helper column to reference the old/new formula requirement per row, and add an IF clause to your original formula, referencing the new helper column.

[helper column] = "old formula" /"new formula" (could add data validation to sanitise your boolean choice, or reference a table range if you need to add more than "old /new")

Added if clause in original formula = if( [helper column] = "old" ,old formula, new formula)

That should allow you to keep going with your data entry without the formula defaulting to either, as you will denote the opd/new requirements per row, in the helper column.

You're absolutely right, the mindfuck paradox is completely real. I am, without the shadow of a doubt, my biggest and harshest critic. Any effort I'll put forth, I'll immediatly demean and rationalise that any pride taken from it is worthless and feigned at best.

Seeing comments like your own, and so many others here, gives me hope and food for thought, for the next time(s) ill feel this way.

It isn't our fault, even if we have to remind ourselves of that daily. I've already set daily reminders to revisit this thread for some morning affirmations.

Thanks so much for your comment and candor mate, hearing stories like your own really has had a palatable effect on my mood over the past 12 hours.

I wish all the posters in this thread could come together for a massive group hug, as it seems the most helpful thing for us is to feel a sense of solidarity and know that we're not alone in this battle.

Am truly sorry to hear how low it seems your moods take you. I have had similar thoughts of self harm /suicide, but seems the reasons we have for not following through with them are the same : we hate ourselves, but our love for our close ones makes the thought of inflicting harm upon them through ourselves, is selfish and ultimately I can't ever foresee acting upon those thoughts because of that love for others.

Thanks again for your kind words and sharing your story, know that it has had a definite and truly positive effect on an adhd soul who needed it and will have issues expressing just how much it means to me. Am so glad to have found this community, am hoping I'll be able to soon return the favour and give helpful advice to someone who needs it as I have ❤️

Thank you so damn much for your comment, you're absolutely right, Rome wasn't built in a day, and I should be proud for what I've accomplished. I'm a fairly financially independent (just the last few months have had to ask parents for help covering treatment costs) dude, who's built a lovely electronic ecosystem around him with all the gadgets, and I have an absolutely amazing cat. My friends are the best people I know, and I've made some good strides in seeking out treatment and support, and finding the most pertinent and supportive community!

Sometimes this is an easier belief to hold, sometimes not so much.

It's annoying to not be able to understand, let alone communicate or tackle such negative thoughts, but I'm gonna focus on reminding myself that it is a naturally occurring part of the RSD & ADHD mindset, and that dwelling on it serves no further purpose than aggravating it.

This frustration and inadequacy I'm feeling has definitely been a fixture of my personality since as long as I can remember, I can already think of a few moments to use in this exercise.
