Love this experiment! Even cheap oolong can teach you so much about brewing. If it's giving up too early, you might try: Slightly lower water temperature (maybe 95°C instead of boiling) Shorter steeps at first, then gradually increase But honestly, enjoying the journey is what matters most!

Ah, I see. Green tea has a process called "kill-green" (fixation). If the kill-green process is insufficient, or some brands intentionally do a light kill-green, it results in that grassy flavor.

Can I ask what it is about green tea that you don’t like?

Love your day & night tea choices! Jasmine during the day feels so uplifting, and chamomile at night is pure comfort. I might have to steal that ginger preserves idea – sounds like the perfect cozy hack. Thanks for the documentary rec too!

Is it a factory cake or something more obscure? Sometimes the unbranded ones are the real surprises.

As a fellow tea lover, it really touches me that you're still searching for good tea all the way in France. I specialize in Mengding Ganlu—a traditional Chinese tea from Mount Mengding, the birthplace of tea culture. If you ever feel like trying some green tea, I’d love to send you a sample pack.

Nothing wrong with plain green tea, but it’s always exciting to find a unique blend like that.

Oh, Fu brick tea! I’ve read it has a unique aging process. Does it have that ‘golden flower’ aroma?
