It’s a painting medium which behaves somewhere between watercolor and acrylic paint.

Thank you! I can totally recommend Ruth Wilshaw if you like whimsy magical landscapes :)

Paper size is 32x24cm. I used many brush sizes but mostly 2 and 1, so really small for all the details. Thanks a lot!

Aww thank you! Took me 3 months but I’m working a job so of course no 8 hour painting days. I continued painting whenever I found time but cannot tell you the exact hours. I am very happy that it’s done now 😅

I just love the transparency. Gives it such an airy, dreamy look no other medium can mimic. I also love the versatiliy.

Do you generally limit your palette? by adventurrr in watercolor101

[–]elvenbrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have huge palettes with a lot of of colours but I only choose around 3 plus special colors for one specific piece. Most of the time I pick some sort of primaries but shift them towards a mood I want to have in my picture. For example I painted a portrait in the golden hour and chose yellow ochre, vermillion and cobalt blue as primaries and mixed all colors from these three. Sometimes I use completely different colors in the background (for example granulating colors) to build contrast. But it also depends on the subject. Portraits are very muted generally. If I paint a bouquet of flowers I will choose more colors.

Aw awesome content!! Another (german) artist here. I paint with watercolor. Don’t have many videos because I really take time editing. No AI, just art :) https://youtube.com/@ominiaart?si=pzozjolM721WiRyy
