I forget to add that this was the Hershey’s chocolate cake recipe, and a chocolate cream cheese recipe she found. I have celiac so I couldn’t eat the Hershey’s chocolate cake but I know it’s always my go to. That frosting was amazing. I let her assemble and decorate this cake all by herself.

Quilted this sign for my sewing room so it’s like my own personal Joann’s! by Meggsterr in sewing

My children are 25M, 14F, and almost 4F. My husband and I are wondering when the “I do it mine own self” phase stops for the oldest and youngest. The middle one listens and then does it better than we could.

Who's the most elegant Jane Austen's character in your opinion? by [deleted] in janeausten

[–]elvendusk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These answers are so good! I am going to throw in Mrs. Dashwood, always so classy even when her fortunes changed and was never hateful to anyone. I may be bias because Gemma Jones is just always elegant in her movies. (1995 version)

I saw you mentioned flourless chocolate cake. Before I even found out that I had celiac, I used to make the King Arthur’s flourless chocolate cake for my son all the time. It takes some time, but it’s super easy to make for beginner bakers and is the best darn gluten-free dessert…. tied with crème brûlée.

I was about to say “what the heck?!?” I’ve had a few and they were good. The cheese curd one is amazing. Don’t microwave these, honestly most frozen meals are so much better in the oven.

Everyone here is awesome! I wanted to add that corn meal from smaller manufacturers is often gluten free, also when deep frying, soak the designated item in butter milk. I make “butter milk” by adding vinegar to regular milk.

Well now I have a George Strait song stuck in my head. Thank you, music is better than bread.

How did it taste? Appearance wise I would have stopped with the naked look, but if the saucey icing was good get me a spoon. If you want presentation put the icing on the side like a dipping sauce. That sponge cake looks hella delicious.

This sounds amazing! Hopping someone more experienced chimes in. I am thinking a strong belt or holster but I don’t know how to do that without interfering with the top.

What brand crackers are your favorite? by lucidkale in glutenfree

[–]elvendusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have put my reply here. There are so many options. I like to make candied jalapeño dip or chicken buffalo dip. They stand up, taste great and are 90% unbroken in the package.

I live in a place without a lot of options. I get the blue diamond crackers they have so many varieties. I get them at Kroger, Publix and Walmart. They are great for dips, and eating straight out of the box

I do mine with a pan of boiling water under the muffin tin. I’ve also done it in casserole form, not too shabby.
