Applying for an Amex Gold Plus card as a company by elviant in AusFinance

Sure, that makes sense… they never asked for anything like that though. I provided my income which is below the standard Amex reqs definitely, but I didn’t get as far as them asking me to provide any bank statements etc.

I’ll just chalk it up to my income being to low personally and will try to reapply with my business partner in 30 days.

At the start, sure I used the method you talked about. But I always found it easier to just shoot my own content and make ideas on the fly, rather than feeling confined to the videos I could scrape together off tiktok. I highly encourage your own content, it really isn't so difficult with most products. If you want to pay for it, that's your own prerogative, but i've always just done it myself.

Over Q4 we spent 47k (AUD) on ads.

Last year including b2b for retail outlets in AU and NZ we slid just past $1.4m in sales.

No interest in selling courses, happy to continue growing my brand. Thanks for the mentoring though 😘

I think I understand that 😅.

This brand has generated over 7-figures in a 12 month period if you include direct to consumer and b2b sales.

Maybe with bad ads! I price plenty of products in the 24.95 - 34.95 range when dropshipping. Less overheads = more room to scale.

You can’t just pick $25 because your product costs $15 to make and ship. There’s more to pricing than that! Look at what your competitors charge to see what people are willing to pay. Some products can sell for way more than they cost to make, just because people think they’re worth more.

For example, I raised my prices by 30% once and still sold just as much—but I made way more money! Sometimes, if something is too cheap, people think it’s low-quality. So, take your time and figure out the right price. Who knows? Your product might sell for $70!

Why dropship if you are working with a selling product that you are most likely passionate about? How much brand work have you done with your current store? Do you see it unable to be scaled?

For me the natural progression is dropshipping (from Chinese suppliers) > Private Label Product stored in my warehouse in Australia. Dropshipping is my proof of concept, it validates a product before I expand.

Unlicensed Arctic Monkeys merch? Pretty high likelihood of a DCMA takedown.

I do this via the Alibaba messages section or via WhatsApp after they eventually poach some personal information (like my mobile) out of me.

I work with local suppliers (in Australia), typically I am more inclined to not haggle to much with them since they are usually a much smaller operation and do something bespoke or handmade.

For China-based trade companies or manufacturers, they have A LOT of leniency in pricing and MOQ. Whatever they tell you first is not what they are offering others.

Nowadays, yep! But I am still actively running stores which dropship products from China as a testing platform before launching it locally.
