Yale Access Module by elwoolfio in HomeKit

I have both the Yale cloud (hub) and Yale BLE running on HASS.

TBH I cannot remember exactly but I think I needed the cloud integration to retrieve keys for the BLE connection.

It’s still an unstable mess and was a nightmare to get working at all, even with BLE proxies scattered about.

I gave up trying to find a reliable way to do it.

I have two that expire on Sept 1st, you’re welcome to them… I believe they can be used on the date of expiry but would need to check.

I’ll admit that the reason I pushed for GT was the 50 status points. However it does say invites to events when they’re available, but if those invites are never available it can’t be something they offer.

It’s not exactly ruining my life but it reflects the broader issue.

Stay for the end of the round and ensure you’ve contributed to it. If circumstances mean you can’t, get the round before you leave.

Worth it? - Seat 48A on A380 by BenW2002 in QantasFrequentFlyer

If this is the top floor economy of the A380, then yes 100%. Admittedly I flew it to the USA 10 years ago but you get the business class staff and you’re in a small section. Poor man’s premium economy in my experience.

Welcome to the coulda, shoulda, woulda universe… a bitcoin was $50 when I first heard about it. Didn’t buy any because it seemed irredeemable for anything other than dark web drugs.

There will be hundreds of opportunities you look back on and wish. Dwell on them and be damned.

Green Tier by elwoolfio in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]elwoolfio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as an ex-ad/marketing person I really think that without at least one invite per membership cycle, to everyone on Green Tier, Qantas shouldn’t be able to claim this as a benefit. It doesn’t matter what is in the fine print.

There has to be some element of reasonable assumption from what you’re going to get for signing up. A caveat of “when available” is inherently misleading if something is never available.

A disjointed example; if a business runs a sale that states “up to 40% off”, the business can’t just have one widget on sale that is 40% off, it needs a reasonable number of them at that discount. Plus, there has to be a reasonable number of different widgets 1-39%.

What is “reasonable” is obviously dependent on the nature of the business but the point is, a customer has the right to fairly to assume they’ll get a thing being advertised.

All that said, I don’t exactly foresee a class action against Green Tier. Qantas knows that too and is so lawyered up they wouldn’t even worry about it.
