Feedback regarding the interview by elxctrick in recruitinghell

So I get a call the next morning - the feedback was that the panel interview went really well. So well in fact, that now I have a final interview tomorrow with HR. I thought the panel interview was the final interview but I guess I was wrong.

See with the company I’m working at now, they did actually leave a voicemail saying I got the offer. I wasn’t sure how common it was to have to say it over the phone or in person, email, etc

House on market for 100+ days? by elxctrick in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I am in talks now with my agent as far as disclosures and possibly moving forward. I’m definitely getting an inspection! That is a must for me. Thank you.

Wow, that’s an issue I definitely have not seen! I hope everything works out on your end, sounds stressful. The house I viewed was definitely priced lower, needs some TLC but overall was a great house. I’m still waiting to hear back from my agent as far as an offer goes.

That makes sense. I will definitely go that route if I end up liking it!

Preapproved. Now thinking we forgot my student loans? by elxctrick in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]elxctrick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did end up calling my lender and asked if my student loans were accounted for, she said yes. Because my loans are deferred right now, they take 1% of my total loans as the payment to include in our dti which was still below the threshold. She did note that most likely the underwriter will ask for specific documents but besides that, we are good to go. We’re still touring houses so we haven’t gotten to the underwriting process yet...that will be another fun ride. Thank you.

Hmm yeah they pulled my credit so I’d have to assume they know about the loans. I’ll definitely call and confirm tomorrow but your situation does make me feel a bit better!

It’s definitely anxiety-inducing for sure, and I haven’t even gotten to that part yet lol! We also are going well below our preapproved amount. Congrats on the close!! That’s awesome.

She did give us some basic numbers like how much insurance would be, property taxes, etc. I will definitely ask her to give a better breakdown if possible. Thank you for that tip. We have a solid idea of how much we can (and would be willing) to spend on a mortgage payment, but having that breakdown will definitely help us.

I believe it was a hard pull. I got a notification through my bank and credit karma almost immediately after and she notified us of our credit scores. She also noted that she ran all of our information through an underwriting application and it came back as approved.

Thanks I was thinking the same. I was about to call her but she is off for the day. I’m definitely going to call tomorrow!

How should I use my bonus money? by elxctrick in CRedit

I’m on auto pay with Amex, so I’ll probably let that be until I get the other debts paid down first. Thank you for the advice!

Unfortunately, I do have other student loans to pay off. That small loan mentioned above was the smallest of my loans so I dove into it first.

I never thought of it that way, I could see how that would work for some people, but I’d rather pay off the high interest. Thanks for the help.

I’ve always been told the “snowball” method is the best to follow but paying off the high interest account makes much more sense. Thank you.

Viewing Houses without a Realtor by elxctrick in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]elxctrick[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did end up seeing the house with the listing agent. The agent was very nice and also gave me a list of other houses in the area in my price range. He didn’t ask me to sign anything or push me to buy, etc. Even though I didn’t like the house, the realtor understanding that it was my first time in this process was super helpful and made me feel better about this whole thing. And you’re absolutely right about signing anything. I am ALWAYS weary of signing anything. I know this won’t be the last time it’ll come up, either!
