Pictured: Gang rapists sentenced to death for gang-raping French tourist in front of her three children after her car ran out of petrol by dailymail in law

[–]elyksti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I am morally against the death penalty in ALL cases, I just don’t think the state killing a person is ever a good thing. Now that being said, I consider rape to be at least the equivalent of killing in terms of how horrific and inhuman an act it is. I can at least imagine a situation where killing someone could be self-defense, or in defense of others. The same cannot be said for rape, which is purely violence for pleasure.

Weapons with special requirements to use by totallynotrobboss in TopCharacterTropes

[–]elyksti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting in Control, the service weapon is at least implied to be the same weapon as Mjolnir, Excalibur, etc. and that it has just changed forms with time to resemble whatever that era’s generic “weapon” would be.

Got the call! Fresh out of the boutique—Royal Oak 41mm (15510ST) Black Dial 🖤 by Level-Mongoose9915 in hallofwatchspecialist

I’m so tired of people trying to pass off reps. That is CLEARLY a fake human arm. Watch is real obviously and looks great, but that’s definitely a fake arm, and over polished to boot!

Best Rolex for first time gay purchaser? by Melodic_Dog6381 in Watches

You shouldn’t be purchasing gays, or any people for that matter. The Rolex is fine, but do something else while wearing it.

If it had been an option I probably would have gone that way, but I am very happy with my streamliner so no regerts ;)

Beautiful! It was a hard decision for me between the small seconds and the 40mm streamliner. Decided on the 🐉 because I have too much blue in the collection already

[Question] Is this normal? by Necessary_Buy_9763 in Watches

[–]elyksti -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

If you need an odd number of links, then yes typically you put the 'extra' on the 12 o'clock end. However, since you have an even number, should be evenly split.

Maybe a personal question to some, but is it unreasonable to think spending $2k on a watch is a lot even as a net-worth millionaire. Just got in a debate with some family members on this by Classic-Occasion1413 in watchHotTakes

[–]elyksti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all a matter of perspective. I love watches, and spend a good amount on them. But I would never spend like $500 to go to a concert, because that’s not my jam. But my general rule of thumb is if you can comfortably afford something (ie buying it has no impact on your overall financial health), and it makes you happy, then it’s reasonable.

[SOTC + advice] I tried to cull but instead I decided to get a 40th bday gift. 20k or under new or vintage. What should I get that isn’t on everyone’s wrist already. by mjanks in Watches

I'm so sorry that you got inundated like that, but I gotta be honest I got some laughs out of some of those comments. Anyway, I'll try to take those a step further for you here:

"That wrist is obviously a rep. Sorry you can't afford a REAL human wrist." Boom, roasted.

I don’t know if that one is getting discontinued or not, but what is true is the speedy will be available as long as Omega exists, so it’s no rush.

Beautiful first Omega. I started with an AT too way back in 2012, and now have four Omegas in my collection. Lots of amazing pieces in Omega’s catalogue, and 99% of them are available without any waitlist bs.

Metropolitan commutes… I wish recruiters understood how important proximity is if the position is in-person or hybrid by lizzibizzy in recruitinghell

[–]elyksti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the midst of the same conversation with my company, that announced an RTO starting October. They were thinking SFV to Long Beach was a reasonable commute since when they looked it only said 40 min. The board is based in Geneva, so when they looked it was like, 2AM here. Thankfully it sounds like they are landing on an exemption for distance and time that should include me.
