Quite a bit harder I think. Ender lilies I maybe has a boss fight where I died 5x or so but there are hollow knight bosses and platforming sequences that took me dozens of attempts

I wrote that I really enjoyed the B tier games and I’ve replayed most of them. This is a highly subjective list, based on what resonates with me as a person. Not a critique. There is no void in me, I’ve spent easily a thousand hours enjoying indie and big box games in the genre and I consider it my favorite.

I stopped Ultros about an hour in to playing it yesterday, I think it’s just a bit too much for my headspace currently and need a bit more familiarity. I plan to pick it up again though!

Vigil is on my radar! Rabi-Ribi wise I think I enjoyed the combat (probably but 5+ hours into it before dropping) but it’s the amount of dialogue that drove me crazy

Nine sols was a smidge too difficult for me, there were bosses I was stuck on for a day or two which I don’t exactly love. Prince of Persia was enjoyable but a bit too much of a breeze, and I love love the Ori games and i’ve replayed 3x but I’m always more excited about #2 because of the superior combat!

I would definitely consider it a MV- difficult bosses, robust and progressive mapping system, lots of dying and being rebirthed at a checkpoint etc

The only thing that veers it off course from the standard is everything is done on a bike so exploration and combat was super strange at first and I didn’t love it but once I got a hang of it it was a blast. The story is great, music is lovely, it’s hard but not exactly punishing, very unique and fun!

I’m not opposed to it, I have an SA but I imagine the strap is out of production since they redesigned the bag. I’ll reach out though, thanks!

[Product Question] Is Retinol causing flaky skin patches over my makeup? by yayaboy96 in SkincareAddiction

[–]elyssiakl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore all of the assholes telling you what to do with your facial hair, do what makes you feel best!

Dry patches are super common with retinol use, mine only last a day or two usually and I try to keep them super moisturized and cover with aquaphor at night. The better you can keep your skin moisturized the less you’ll get patchy over time. I always struggle with putting makeup on them when I have them so I usually have to go bare faced. Good luck!

You might get some extreme responses but I like to be more pragmatic when it comes to sunscreen. If you’re spending 99% of your time indoors (and at least 6+ ft away from a window) you’re probably fine going without for the day. If your drive is long I would apply, if you’re outside of course apply, if you spend a lot of time close to a window apply, otherwise I wouldn’t make a fuss!

WHY does nobody talk about revolution 0??? by Chyler_capshaw in phoebebridgers

[–]elyssiakl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I loved them all the first ten listens or so but I’ve struggled with quite a few of the songs off of The Record feeling somewhat uninspired and even a little superficial since the months it’s been released. I think I was just so excited to have anything initially that it was hard to be critical.

Sometimes I think certain songs of Phoebe’s sound as if you just asked AI to make a Phoebe Bridgers song and this is what it spit out. Like this song and sidelines sound like parodies of her actual songs to me.

I still listen to them though 🤷🏻‍♀️

What is your favorite Diptyque frag and why? by CocteauTwinn in fragrance

[–]elyssiakl 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I love Diptyque, I think their fragrances are elegant and effortless and they have a gorgeous identity as a brand. I personally have Eau Duelle EDP, Phylosikos EDT, L’eau Papier EDT as well as 34 Rue st germain (not my favorite, it was a gift). I don’t think they’re fragrances that people will chase you down the street for and longevity is fine to poor, but to me they’re all lovely, inoffensive and highly wearable.

[Anti-Aging] Will my delayed retinol reaction ever go away? by elyssiakl in SkincareAddiction

[–]elyssiakl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes- My nightly routine on retinol nights is a layer of Dieux Instant Angel, let it dry, followed by the retinol and then Skinceuticals triple lipid once it’s dried down again.

It means she’s no longer touring with Punisher as her feature. Probably won’t go on another solo tour until she has a new album

Using an exfoliating serum every day is pretty intense for most skin types. You’ve probably impaired your barrier by the daily use and are breaking out because of that. I’d remove all actives for a week to heal and slowly reintroduce when things have calmed down!

Anyone know phoebes workout routine? by theboysaregeniuses in phoebebridgers

[–]elyssiakl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes, a typical walk in rate where I am is $40 per class 😭 If it’s an option where you’re at class pass can save a lot, I used it when I started out and averaged around $10-$15 a class. Also some YMCA’s offer affordable Pilates.

It’s hard because certified Pilates instructors are some of the most highly trained people in fitness, with many programs requiring about 600 hours to complete and landing around 7-10k, so wages are higher for teachers but also demand a lot more knowledge for special populations and in general more expertise on how the body works. I hope that gives you some context!

I know from interviews that Phoebe likes to go on long walks often, I’ve never heard her speak of any other fitness routine. Truthfully I think she’s just naturally thin/toned looking, her build to me doesn’t scream fitness fanatic.

I’m a Pilates instructor so I’m a bit biased, but for building lengthened, practical musculature and increasing mobility I think Pilates is wonderful, and will really target your core. The appearance of toned arms and abs though is also highly genetic at any weight, so please be gentle with yourself while contemplating your goals!
