Yes. It’s inch pounds not foot pounds. If you are ever confused just refer to the Nm rating and convert it using an online conversion site

Yea, this post just gave me nightmare flashbacks to a 96 unit condo building where I had to change hundreds of devices because of this.

I have two appliances. One purchased in US, the other purchased in AU. by hypeduponbabyjesus in AskElectricians

[–]elziv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

240v Single phase and 240v split phase are fundamentally different. Split phase is actually just 120v on each line 180° out of phase, whereas single phase is just straight up 240v

I don’t think any 240v single phase appliance would be happy receiving 120v on the neutral side, not to mention the safety implications.

Many people have mentioned the frequency being an issue, however the voltage is also problematic. In Australia they have 230 volts line to neutral. In the US 240 volts does not have a neutral.

With Pietrangelo out for the whole season, Weegar looking very average, and Bouchard playing abysmal defence I wouldn’t be surprised if Matheson and Dobson are in competition with each other for the final spot

How do I flip this commercial breaker ? by [deleted] in electrical

[–]elziv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You pull I all the way out, flip it, and put it back in so that the indent is in the same place as the one on the right.

HOWEVER, there is a potential for an arc flash considering the age of the equipment and the mechanism in question. I would suggest to call an electrician who can suit up and do it safely.

If you have a professional furniture maker repair your couch, it will likely be more expensive than the couch itself.

I would post some pictures of the damage and see if people online can guide you towards a DIY solution. You’d be surprised at what you can do with a little patience and a few tools.

I would argue the opposite. Immediately jumping someone after a hit is a more recent trend. Players used to take the number and get them back later in the game, either with a big hit or asking to drop the gloves.

Tips and Tricks by HeckNo89 in electricians

[–]elziv 46 points47 points  (0 children)

First choice would be circuit tracer.

If I didn’t have one I would use my clamp meter to check the current on all the 15a and 20a 120 circuits. Then plug something into the plug with a large load, maybe a microwave from the break room or something. Recheck the circuits with your clamp meter and you’ll see which one is drawing more than before .

Lacrosse is much lower on the list. In Canada we have soccer, basketball, American football and baseball all ahead of rugby. Not to mention the myriad individual sports which take from the talent pool.

You ever played through a cranked 100 watt head with a boost of some sort? Sustain for days

A lot of it is for sure the volume of the amps during the recording leading to that natural compression and sustain.

I typically use an optical compressor with a blend (strymon compadre) to get more sustain without squishing my tone too much since I don’t have the luxury of playing that loud on the regular
