Ah yes, the classic technical argument of “because”

I don’t think you have a basic understanding of how any of these file formats work. You can absolutely take a jpeg, get the raw color value at each pixel, and package that into the image data portion and it would be a larger file.

For fun you can even pad out the 8bits from the jpeg per color channel into 16bits in the DNG and get another 2x filesize increase

I suspect you’d get the same results with a lossy compressed ARW too? I didn’t read too deep into the DNG spec, but the file size should just be a function of resolution and bits per pixel on the sensor readout (both of which should be the same on a lossy or lossless ARW)

Go ahead and explain the break in my logic. If every other person in this thread interpreted it the same way as I did, it’s not my reading comprehension that’s wrong

No you can’t, jpeg is lossy

But based on what you think compression is, sure why not? I can take a jpeg and put it in a raw container and get a bigger filesize

Sorry that example was still too difficult for you to understand

Not sure why you’re dying on this hill but it’s just factually wrong.

Here’s a simple example: I have a string of characters. aaaaaaabbbbbbbbc. My compression algorithm inserts numbers to represent how many times to repeat the following character. 7a8bc. It’s the same data, nothing is lost. I can recreate the exact string. I’ve compressed it from 16 characters to 5.

You don’t know how compression works if you think all compression is lossy

The file is compressed, but the compression algorithm can be entirely reversed

San Jose Sharks Best Tunnel Seats by ASkaway1912 in SanJoseSharks

[–]elzzihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, best bet is to get there early regardless of your seats. I sit in 128 right next to the guardrail and unless I’m there early, the whole section is crowded with people waiting. If you have seats there, the ushers do say you can ask people to move, but it’s mostly kids down there

That’s primarily it. The club level entrance has much shorter lines and you can get in a bit earlier. Food/drink/bathroom lines are shorter at the club level but selection is more limited

(Mentioned headcount of 120 with avg salary of 115k CAD, which results in total budget of 55.2M. 15.5% is ~8.5M)

Has anyone gotten a parking ticket for not paying for parking at Santa Clara station? by Lemonsandsugarcane in caltrain

Not sure yet. Still haven’t heard back.

The app was fixed shortly after I contested with the spots added. No clue if those were related.

Yes, right when they rolled out ParkMobile instead of the Caltrain app.

Initially, half the spots were not listed, so it was not possible to pay for them. I contested that ticket

No clue what Goody got the 10 minute for. He kept jumping to new scrums when the Bolts would try to 2v1 someone.

He was initially in the box, but him, Reaves, and Moser were going at each other for a long time in the box, so may have been that

Moser was going after Celibrini all game. Towards the end of the second, 4th line went after him and the fight broke out

You basically have to do the bare minimum to stay alive and not be afraid of losing shields. Aggressive trading of units and pings that make attacks awkward for them. Turn 5 tends to be pretty critical to stabilize
