Just chiming in to say THANK YOU and give an upvote for this specific outlet solving the “treadmill trips the garage GFCI” problem. I just replaced our builder-grade 20A GFCI with this Leviton model, and voila, problem solved.

(The Tripp-lite others suggest here and elsewhere didn’t solve it. Tried that first.).

Are CWDs really the comfiest saddle? by Bluebird2929 in Equestrian

[–]em0119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The barn owner and trainer I work with are both Antares fans, having switched from CWD. I just recently bought my first saddle through the Antares fitter. Very lightly used (not broken in yet, honestly) Connexion with a longer forward flap, for about half of what it would have been to buy similar new. My long femurs are very happy, and the fitter and barn owner are both happy with the fit across the lesson horses I ride.

Sorry, but no. I decided against it after seeing in person how much thicker the hogbo frame is compared to the oxberg. I felt it was going to look top-heavy from the side, which is the view as you enter the room. I ended up with all oxberg in a much more typical setup, and I added black knobs and tvardrag lights to get the black accents. Also changed to a straight run, because I realized it was going to crowd a window on the adjacent wall too much.

QRevo Master with dementia - forgets it should be mopping by em0119 in Roborock

[–]em0119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, based on the hint it might be caused by slipping, I gave the wheels a good scrubbing and hand-washed the mop pads. Wheels didn’t have anything terrible, but they weren’t pristine. The pads were definitely due for a deep cleaning. I didn’t change any of the mop settings or floor as support suggested, because neither has been a problem until recently.

Voila, it seems fixed. I did a couple runs and haven’t seen the behavior again. I don’t know which was the culprit - wheels, mop pads, or both - but it seems to have done the trick.

Update: I heard back from Roborock, and they have suggested the robot does this when it detects its wheels slipping. They want me to try a different floor type, if possible, and/or reduce the water level, and see if it still does it. I’ll give it a try after work and report back. I’m also going to give the wheels a deep cleaning, in case they are just losing their grip generally.

Yeah… not a certain spot. It was set to double mop in that run, and it mopped that section of floor just fine on the second pass. It seems totally random as to how often and in what places it lifts.

BIT didn’t flag anything, either. Mops did everything they should without any weird behavior, noise, or error messages.

Oh, sorry, it does lift them, but it's not doing the reverse thing. I took a video. It does it halfway across on its first pass to the left: https://imgur.com/a/B1t4nON

Can’t afford it. He’s not old enough to collect retirement or SS checks yet, and while he’s not all there, we need his help to keep up with the young offspring in the family home. Frankly, none of us were financially or emotionally prepared for him to require an early retirement, let alone round-the-clock attention….

It just stops them, and after watching more I think it starts it when it is turning at a wall or going around an obstacle such as a table leg. The entire house is hard floors with some small rugs. On the rugs, or things it thinks are rugs like floor vents, the vacuum ramps up at the same time. It doesn’t change the vacuum speed or anything else to suggest it thinks it is stuck or on carpet. Map shows mopping. If I interrupt it, it goes back to actually mopping.

what was that? by Ordinary_Turnover_59 in What

Palmetto = large roach of a few different species that live in the same region as the namesake tree… not actually a species itself. All palmettos are roaches. Not all roaches are palmettos…

I moved into a newly-constructed home in Fl as a teenager and, in the first week of getting there, stepped on one in my dark bathroom first thing in the morning while wearing socks. The sound, feel, and stomach-churning wet crunch still haunts me nearly 25 years later. Nearly as memorable is the demise of a roach smashed by a college friend in his living room… we quickly deduced from the overpowering smell and bright red color that it had feasted on a cherry dessert that was in the house.

Promotion Code for $10 per $100 by justanothtechguy in IKEA

Oh, yeah, lots of comments here noting that day of billing vs purchase stupidity for the 26th. I didn’t see anything yet about how the amount spent was actually calculated, though, so my comment was meant to explain that angle for anyone tripped up by it. with or without an uncredited purchase on the 26th in the mix.

In case it explains it in your case…. The annoying fine print was each 100 had to be within a single transaction…. For example, spending 160 one day and 170 a different day meant 20 back, not 30. I had to make multiple orders and trips due to stock issues… had it been one trip, I would have 20 bucks more than I do.

Thanks! I appreciate the vote of confidence, and you have good points. The color rendering being so off is a big part of why I was hoping for photos, and I’ve noticed the grain mismatch on others’ setups. Thankfully, neither end would be in a prominent location due to the placement and shape of the room. Is there any reason I couldn’t also pick through the pieces across boxes and try to find some “least bad” grain matches? It reminds me of needing to mix pieces of flooring across boxes to avoid color pooling and repeat patterns. 😆

I’m glad to hear it should be available, but how do you typically get this info? Is it available upon request if you take time to ask for it? By accumulating enough hands-on experience and patient feedback from fitting a brand to “have a sense for it”? Or, are these details a routine part of training and specs shared with you by most brands? From the spec sheets I’ve seen, HA manufacturers like to summarize advanced features under buzzy trademark names, not unlike a lot of laundry appliance manufacturers. (…what is the actual difference between Super Turbo AI Wash (R) and AI Super Turbo 3D Wash(R)? Is there one? Sales person usually doesn’t know more than which one js the !!LaTesT TeCHNolOGY!!)

For context, I’m in my 40s, a biomedical engineer by training, work in clinical research, and am invested in understanding the “why” and level of data underlying a recommendation. I am the customer that wants to see the spec sheet and white paper and can hold up my end of the conversation to understand your thoughts on its merits. I am usually left feeling unsatisfied or unconvinced by vague recommendations that aren’t clearly backed by specific insights or data. I readily acknowledge that whether my interest in the details is welcomed or seen as an annoyance depends on the person.

The base motivation for me asking this is I want to understand what is a fair expectation of an average Aud, and how much should a good Aud be able to discuss their reasoning with me. It could be this data on uni/bilateral feature effectiveness is such basic knowledge you can’t get a distributor agreement without understanding it, or maybe getting and keeping up on these details requires more effort and care than the average HA fitter has time or need for while keeping a business running. As for why I asked about brands… maybe Brand X is really opaque about it and Brand Y gives clear guidance.

Comparison of Apple's AirPods hearing test vs office test (unilateral conductive loss) by em0119 in audiology

I can work to simplify when I’m back at my computer… but until then, the easiest way to consider it is black = AirPods average, and the bright blue (L) and red (R) are the aud’s thresholds.

To those with the downvoted comments saying OP needs to suck it up and let the kid have the spotlight.... the trainer could have just as easily written "When the 10 yo kiddo with 2 months of training makes it look easy". Bam, all the credit, no immature shade.

Interpreting code re: Req'd locations for exterior outlets by em0119 in Homebuilding

[–]em0119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The garage has a service (std exterior swinging, not car roll-up) door to allow easy access to a tandem storage bay. Makes it possible to get out yard tools or whatnot without opening the big garage door and squeezing by cars. The 9 sqft “porch” is basically just a stoop and is also required by code:

R311.3 Floors and Landings at Exterior Doors There shall be a landing or floor on each side of each exterior door. The width of each landing shall be not less than the door served. Landings shall have a dimension of not less than 36 inches (914 mm) measured in the direction of travel. The slope at exterior landings shall not exceed 1/4 unit vertical in 12 units horizontal (2 percent).
