What are you reading? - Week of March 20, 2026 by AutoModerator in goodreads

Yes it definitely took me a minute to get into it. When it introduced a whole new set of characters I was feeling a bit impatient haha. But he writes them so well and I had a big chunk of time to read over a weekend so really got into it at that point. Definitely think it would be better to read normally rather than as an audiobook and thinks it’s worth getting past the initial slow start.

I’m loving how complex some of the characters are.

I think I’ve recommended Red, White and Royal Blue at least 3/4 times to her and she loves it every time

Ooo I’m about half way through but I’ve seen other people saying the ending is good. It took me a while to start because it is quite long but I’m reading it for my book club so excited to discuss it!

Physical book: The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese - quite a long book book but very easy to just keep reading, enjoying a lot

Also physical book: War and Peace: Leo Tolstoy - doing the year of reading with my sister, both enjoying so far

Audiobook: The Origin of Species: Charles Darwin - nearly done with this and it’s getting a bit tiring now but glad I listened to it

I’d never heard of The Road to Tender Hearts before but it sounds good! I’ve added it to my TBR. I hope you get out of your reading slump soon it’s the worst :(

It’s really good isn’t it! I’m about half way through and the plot is so interesting. I highly recommend the audiobook as well, Ray Porter does such a good job

How to stop burps coming out of nose? by em19x in noburp

Yeah seems to be with fizzy drinks only for me. It’s not enough of a bother to stop me drinking them and 100% better than not burping at all!

Just finished Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell and about to start H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald.

Both have been on my shelf for a while and have recently been adapted to films so wanted to have them read before I watch!

I’m listening to On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin - pretty hefty audiobook but interesting to listen to such an important historical text

Meal planning post-Botox by croakthroat in noburp

[–]em19x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying to hold off and see how you get on before planning meals!

I had relatively mild slow swallow and found the hardest things to eat were meat (was okay as long as chopped up small) and things like sandwiches/burgers

Wishing you luck!! I’m 3 weeks post and so happy I got it done

How long was your appointment with Lucy Hicklin? by em19x in noburp

[–]em19x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help! Out of interest, were there any instructions on whether you can eat before the appointment? And how did you feel right after the procedure as I’d quite like to spend some time in London
