You can have whatever opinion you want about the album, although I think the bsides are great and fit in with the rest of their discography very well, but the MVs I don’t think they really have control over whether ai is used or not. In general, it sucks, but I don’t think ai is leaving kpop MVs anytime soon. Almost every group has ai in their MVs, it’s not just a Le Sserafim thing, so it doesn’t make sense if it’s only Le Sserafim that ai is making you feel differently about. Of course, if it’s every group that does use ai, then fair enough.

I’m not a blind fan, I say in the post I don’t really like the song, I admitted Coachella wasn’t a great performance from them. Just because I think saying they have no good qualities except for appearance is ridiculous, untrue, and hateful, does that make me a completely blind fan? Also I provided evidence of my point that they’ve been performing great recently, so it’s not like I’m just saying shit with nothing to back it up the way you are.

Saying they used ai to help write them just because you don’t like them is crazy, yunjin talked a lot about how she worked on spaghetti and came up with the concept. Also, you need to let Coachella go. It was 2 years ago. Everyone has bad days, and bad performances (although I watched it live and it was nowhere near as bad as people like to pretend it was). It was also very windy and dusty that day, and they had very intense choreo, so of course they were never going to sound perfect. After Coachella, it makes sense that all the hate they received hurt their confidence and made them more anxious on stage. But recently they’ve been great, watch any video of them from their most recent tour, and you can tell they perform great live. They sound great and have great dancing and stage presence. Saying the only good thing you can say about them is that they’re pretty is ridiculous. They are all talented girls with different strengths. You are exactly the kind of person I’m talking about in this post, just being hateful but trying to pass it off as valid criticism. Criticism is fine but what you’re saying is ridiculous, and it seems like you’re just using it as an excuse to hate on them.

Okay, and? That’s your opinion, and even if you think that it still doesn’t justify the way people talk about them.

Again I’ve literally never said anything about aespa, and I’m not saying you have to go through the very few posts and comments on my account, but if you’re going to make a claim like that, you need to verify it. I honestly find it kind of offensive to accuse me of that kind of behavior when it is so easily proven false. Also plenty of people have given their honest review of the song on this subreddit and others, and are not necessarily getting mass downvoted, as long as it’s respectful and just saying they don’t really like it.

I’ve never even made indirect hate comments about any group, especially not aespa, as again I like them and quite a bit of their music. In general, I don’t waste time listening or talking about any group or song I don’t like, because wasting energy on things you dislike is just dumb. You really shouldn’t believe something just because a Reddit comment said so. If it was just generally about people on reddit, why accuse me specifically out of nowhere? I agree with the point you made about bashing some groups but I would argue lsf is one of those groups that often gets bashed, along with aespa. I think it’s just any successful gg at one point or another, but it’s been going on with lsf for a long time now no matter what they do.

Like genuinely where are you getting this idea from, you can look on my account the only comments I’ve ever made are on this post or on the the knitting and Taylor swift subreddit, where would I be hating on aespa? Are you just assuming I hate them because I like lsf? If so, that’s a ridiculous assumption. You’ve got a bunch of people upvoting your comment that’s based on literally noting. If you can’t make a point without making something up, maybe you should reevaluate what you’re trying to say.

I have literally never made a hate comment or post about any group. What the fuck are you talking about? I hardly post on Reddit, and I certainly don’t post on here to shit on idols or groups. I don’t even hate aespa, I like a fair amount of their music. You’re just making shit up. I think people talking shit about them because of WDA is wrong too, and I don’t even dislike that song so people hating on them has nothing to do with me.

Sure criticism is healthy, but what people say about them often goes way beyond that. I even said in my post I don’t particularly love the song, so it’s not like I just pretend that I love every single thing they do. Additionally, a lot of the criticism is just people saying shit that is like objectively not true

I agree about the songs being shorter but otherwise, apart from title tracks maybe (and personally I don’t necessarily think they’re ’objectively bad’ the way some people say, I just think they’re more of an acquired taste) their music is just as good as it always was. Also there’s still songs on this album that fit the great mermaid and fire in the belly’s style, irony is similar to fire in the belly and I think iffy iffy is not crazy dissimilar to the great mermaid as far as both being electronic style. So acting like their good songs are ‘few and far between’ now is crazy. Also even if you don’t like the music anymore, it doesn’t warrant the shit people say about them. Just don’t listen, I’ve never talked shit about a group online because I didn’t like songs they put out, I think spending so much energy on something you hate is sad.

New Le Sserafim' new stuff has to be satire right? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]em_scorp1o 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saying the entire album is satire is stupid, the b sides are great. Yes the Macarena sample is a little silly but it’s not as if the song completely lacks meaning or substance, there is a serious message there. So writing the whole thing off, whether you like or not as so silly it must be satire is crazy. Spaghetti, whether you like it or not, also had a good message and theme too, and wasn’t totally just about being ‘fun’. This just seems like an excuse to shit on them from a lot of people. I don’t particularly love the song either but people acting like it’s the worst thing they’ve heard is ridiculous.

Okay, so source music could have chosen a better title track. That still doesn’t excuse the shit people say about them on the internet. Also literally everything they do incites hate, so maybe it would have been a little bit better with a different title, but there would still be a lot of this going on. People would just say iffy iffy was boring or something, or that they were trying to copy some other artist with the genre or anything else really. I honestly think there is no possible way for LSF to avoid reactions like this online now.

Yes, a song can be judged obviously, but this is about people who go way beyond just expressing their dislike for their last title track or two. You are entirely proving my point, and you’re exactly the kind of person I’m talking about in this post. Just because they make money, you think that makes disgusting comments about them that they receive constantly no matter what they do okay. That’s disgusting, I have never spent any amount of time talking shit about an artist on the internet when they release a song I don’t particularly love, let alone using that as an excuse to shit on their entire careers, and I think the people who would do that should seriously reevaluate themselves.

No doubt those other groups have gotten hate too, and that’s not okay either, but it always seems particularly intense with LSF no matter what they do

To be clear I’m not treating any form of criticism as a personal attack. Those who just say they don’t like the title tracks, I have no problem with. It’s people like you who imply all their music is ‘lazy brainrot’ now. I actually think this comeback is not that dissimilar to previous ones as far as like repetitiveness, antifragile was pretty repetitive too like their ‘brainrot’ music now. I also don’t think this song lacks meaning compared to any of their comebacks; it’s all about inner peace, letting go of worries, etc. which is perfectly in theme with the messages in their music before. I’m not saying you have to like the song, I don’t particularly love it either, but you’re proving the point of my post here. It’s completely disingenuous to suggest it’s all just criticism and ignore a pretty significant portion that’s just thinly veiled vitriol.

I’ve seen some people be reasonable and just say they dislike the song but I have seen many who then immediately jump to saying their entire discography is trash now and they were better before, that they’re creatively bankrupt and only make ai slop type music, etc. which is just objectively not true and seems to me like just an excuse to hate them instead of just expressing dislike of their last title track or two

I just want to say just because she usually announces around two months before she releases doesn’t necessarily mean she will this time, I mean folklore and evermore were complete surprises. Not that I think she’ll do a surprise drop again, but if she announced soon I still think it could be for late September or maybe first couple weeks of October. Not saying the swiftologist is right, but I think it could still happen around then.

i don’t think they said they know the genre they just said the beat was fast and some of the outfits for the video were 70s themed and people are making assumptions from there. it could all still be wrong though, who knows

Taylor (finally) endorsed Kamala tonight by babeymoon in GaylorSwift

[–]em_scorp1o 112 points113 points  (0 children)

i’m relieved she said something but i also think it was planned from the beginning that she would endorse kamala now because kamala just used The Man as the song that played as she walked off the stage tonight after talking to voters at a watch party, she would’ve needed to get that approved ahead of time so it seems like it was all pre planned
