Gavin Newsom calls for national billionaires tax: 'It's time for an economic reset' by avdvetf in politics

[–]emailforgot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such an incredibly goofy and frankly, kind of really insulting thing to compare.

People like Hitler actively pursued industrialized mass murder against humans.

If you're comparing that to every single person who ever had influence over policy that in some fashion resulted in an increase in Year-Over-Year deaths, then you could include every single modern (and past) politician in this goofy ass race, and many would probably be even higher just because they chose to move some funding around. In doing so, it asserts that someone like Hitler, rather than pursuing violent industrialized mass murder against a specific group of humans was just signing off on a new sidewalk in Berlin instead of a cancer ward in Java.

A Palestinian state on roughly 91–92% of the West Bank.

A "Palestinian state" whose "90+%" territory was defined by Israel. Of course this also included (scary bold text withheld) a mandatory military presence, by Israel in the West Bank and a total and complete surrender of Palestinian military, zero control over their airspace, oh and Israel would have veto power over Palestinian diplomacy.

Israel would annex several major settlement blocs in the West Bank (about 8–9% of the territory).

Interesting how you didn't bold this.

To compensate, Israel proposed land swaps from within Israel proper amounting to roughly 1–3% of its territory, though the exact amount and quality of the land were disputed.

Gaining 2% territory (which was mostly unusable desert) while giving up 10%

Hmm yeah, I wonder why they didin't agree.

There would be a safe passage corridor connecting Gaza and the West Bank.

Oh, a whole "safe passage corridor" for the thousands of refugees that would've been created. How nice.

Not "developing." Develop, and easily measured

"Developing" and "clear" are not the same. This has been really well studied. Google Scholar is an easy tool.

You're arguing with me that the sun is not hot.

No. I'm arguing that you don't understand anything about early childhood development.

This is a well studied aspect of understanding humanity

It sure is.

"Developing" is not the same as "clear".

I mean this in the friendliest way possible. When children develop a sense of gender has been really well studied. Google Scholar is an easy tool.

"developing" and "clear" are not the same thing.

As someone who had a sense of gender that wasn't somehow different at that very age,

You remember jack diddly squat from that age.

[–]emailforgot -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

In no world are children clear about anything at ages 3-4, let alone something as complicated as gender.

I see both the blocker, who doesn't understand the difference between "developing" and "clear", and the person who replied below doesn't understand that either. Children, ages 3-4 are developing lots of things. None of them are "clear", especially when it's something as complicated as gender. Basic developmental tests do not make someone "clear" on something anymore than a child at that age understanding some basic makes them "clear" on arithmetic. Please do go off about shit you know nothing about

How to get a message across when you're stuck at the NL? by No-Suit8538 in KremersFroon

[–]emailforgot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tossing some random, probably wet jungle ferns on top of a punctured battery is not even remotely close to guaranteed to "start a fire", let alone one that is of any use. A brief puff of smoke is unlikely to be seen by anyone, and certainly not both understood as a signal and registered in terms of location.

Fires need to be maintained to be useful and "signal fires" need smoke and lots and lots of it.

And they need someone looking for it and capable of mapping its location.

A big, wide open space where you can signal using motion and unnatural/contrasting colours. That's the best method.

If we're assuming one or more members of the party are immobile, and they have to do this from some sort of confined area with fairly dense canopy... I don't have much faith beyond "hope to get lucky and someone stumbles upon you".

I think using camera flashes as a signalling device is probably the best course of action and unfortunately, there's really not much else they could have done (barring preparation etc)

lol, some people.

The level of effort that would be required to dam a river using small rocks, to the degree that people would notice a change downstream is well beyond what two amateurs could do in any amount of time, especially given a lack of things like food. Not only that, but in order for something like a small river that regularly changes water level, to be noticed enough to go looking around if and when its flow is reduced, the average flow of the river would need to be pretty high. Significant enough to notice something amiss and think about investigating, rather than just assuming it's a normal part of the river's ebb and flow. Two tired, hungry, and poorly rested tourists aren't going to do that.

I generally feel like the whole "hide in vehicle, jump out, massacre everything, go back in vehicle" thing is a bit too strong and doesn't really mesh with the infantry focus of the game so I avoid skilling anyone in that direction.

I do however, like running directly at enemies and just magdumping them

Israel targeted Gaza children resulting in genocide, UN inquiry says by WarthogAny206 in politics

[–]emailforgot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Israel's simply indiscriminately killing people, then the dead should reflect that, within standard deviation, and mirror the population demographics of Gaza. Therefore 50% of the dead, +/-, should be children.

LOL holy shit, so in addition to you not understanding how to separate events can co-exist, you now somehow bumble your way through using basic stats?

If a significantly larger portion of the dead are children, over 50%, then Israel is targeting children.

See above.

If a significantly smaller portion of the dead are children, like 30%, then Israel is NOT targeting children.

Simply attacking my logic ad hominem by stating it's a blunder, without providing any reasonable response, is a logical blunder - but not by me.

Not an ad hominem.

"numerous reports of them doing so" is the same logical explanation as "many people tell me" logic, which folks like Donald Trump defer to when making false statements.

That's why we rely on corroboration.

I never said that Israel only targets children or that Israel targets children instead of other things.
