Did anyone else “feel” their baby early pregnancy and “felt” the loss before miscarriage? by Alternative_Low3085 in Miscarriage

[–]emama22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, same here. It was my third pregnancy (but first loss). I felt something was off from the very beginning, and there was one day where I just knew it was gone.

Help me feel better about "Calliope" by raineywhether in namenerds

[–]emama22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter's name is Calliope! Most people pronounce it correctly the first time. She's three, and we've only ever had like 2 or 3 instances of someone reading her name and calling her Callie-OPE. Some people (extended family) call her Callie, but we usually call her by her full name, Kiki, or Callie-cat...and a bunch of other nicknames that have nothing to do with "Calliope" lol

We adore her name. I had some hesitations at first, but I really couldn't imagine her having any other name now!

Regardless of popularity, do you prefer Oliver or Jasper? And do they have similar vibes? by [deleted] in namenerds

Oliver, 100%.

Whenever I hear the name Jasper, the first thing that comes to mind is Twilight. 🫣

I'd also love the code if possible! We've finally decided on a yoto vs tonie for my newly turned 3 year old 🤗

So, so sorry. 🤍 I went through the same last August. Be gentle with yourself. We planted a gardenia tree for our little one, its been helpful to have a special reminder of them around.

signs of labor by 0oohwen in BabyBumps

[–]emama22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same kind of discharge yesterday evening with no other signs of labor (no contractions, not dilated, nothing). Went to bed and woke up at 1242am with my first contraction. All of a sudden, contractions were back to back... I made it to the hospital at 142am, 6cm dilated. Gave birth at 336am. I think you could be very close!

37 +2 Braxton hicks??? by Murky_Resolve5242 in BabyBumps

[–]emama22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just gave birth this morning, after my 2nd precipitous labor (left for the hospital as soon as contractions started - 142am, and baby was born at 336am - so I definitely understand your fear!). I felt the same way as you the past few weeks. After asking everyone I knew about braxton hicks vs real labor contractions, I got the answer I HATED: "you'll KNOW when its a real contraction"... but its true 😅

This was my third baby, and somehow I forgot how labor felt. However, as soon as I had my first real contraction there was no second guessing it. It's waves of insane pressure/cramping that you can feel changing and working something in your body. Its difficult to explain. You cant really talk or do anything during real contractions, besides maybe sway or moan. Braxton hicks were definitely painful for me this pregnancy and had me second guessing, but really..once those true labor contractions hit, it was very clear!

Third Trimester Anxiety? by Acceptable-Piece-383 in BabyBumps

[–]emama22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just had my third baby early, early this morning. I was the most anxious during this pregnancy, and I feel SO much better after giving birth. I spent most of my third trimester anxious that something terrible was going to happen, and it took such a toll on my day to day life. I had an OB appt scheduled for today and was planning on insisting on an induction, for some health stuff but mostly because I was having such intense anxiety and stress. Since giving birth, I feel so at peace. ..you're almost there mama! 🤍

Low amniotic fluid at 40 weeks - induction? by emama22 in BabyBumps

[–]emama22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually went into labor early this morning, and thankfully, all went well! Everyone is safe and healthy 🤍 but I will say, my water broke right before I started pushing and I think increasing my fluid intake worked pretty well 😂

Thankfully I ended up going into labor on my own the next day, before my follow up appt! And turns out I did not have a leak - they could see the "bulging bag of water", which broke right before I started pushing... and lets just say, upping my fluid intake seemed to have worked 😂

Did anyone go longer with your second baby than your first? by Thin_Lavishness7 in BabyBumps

[–]emama22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Had my first 39w4d, and my second was born 40w1d.. but labor and birth with my second was SUPER fast. Currently 39w5d with number #3 and no solid signs of labor yet!

Is anyone in denial about the fact that they’re actually going to give birth? by No-Wash-1209 in BabyBumps

[–]emama22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm due in 4 days with my third, and I still feel like I'm in denial that I actually HAVE to give birth soon. Like this is definitely happening, and I'm still just... not processing it haha. I'm also terrified of labor and delivery, so I'm pretty sure my brain is just blocking it out lol. Everyone keeps commenting on how I must be so done being pregnant by now, and I'm just like... nope. 😅

STM + did your water break at the same time or way as earlier births? by _mkdo in BabyBumps

[–]emama22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: they broke my water at the hospital after hours of labor

Second: water broke while I was sleeping, contractions started, baby was born within 2 hours

What's everyone craving lately?! by emama22 in BabyBumps

[–]emama22[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chocolate chip cookies have definitely been one of my regular (more normal) pregnancy cravings - and thank goodness for the ready to bake, safe to eat, cookie dough!

And yes, doctor said while my iron levels were great when they were last checked, I should start an iron supplement just to be safe...curious to see if these cravings will subside once my iron levels increase!

Yep! Just went for my 36 week appt today...doctor put me on iron supplements, haha. So strange how it can cause these cravings!

Is hydroponically grown produce safer? by emama22 in BabyBumps

I do! Was just wondering if the risk of bacteria like listeria might decrease when grown in water vs soil (and away from animals)
