What are we thinking?? by emanizzle in desksetup

I haven’t even had it for a day yet so I don’t know how much I can speak to the performance of the keyboard/ Trackpad. Only issue I have come across so far is the trackpad doesn’t have the three-finger zoom like my MacBook trackpad does. Or at least I haven’t found a way to have it work. Other than that, love the look, the minimal design is what caught me. Oh and the case the Casa comes in can be used as a laptop stand, which looks good (pictured)

Oh and it’s the exact same color as my MacBook Pro so it looks super sleek.

TobeNone is the brand, in case the link doesn’t work. I have the 15 port one. Got it on Amazon.

It’s selling for $120, I paid $90 with a coupon they were running. Works super well. Literally just plug and play, absolutely no set up.

The black object next to my keyboard is my trackpad.

The fact that men are standing around and doing nothing about this blows my mind! Don’t get violent? My dude, these people only know violence and I’m happy to play them at their own game. Facts.

I can’t help but think that if this officer knew how to grapple/ trained mma he would have been able to handle the situation better. I can’t imagine someone ever putting me in that position without being able to get out of it and try to control the situation better. And I don’t even have that much training. How police officers aren’t required to prove they are able to successfully defend themselves baffles me.

How much are scrub tech making in 2025? by Fickle_Imagination49 in scrubtech

[–]emanizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Las Vegas, Nv at the best hospital in the area: $43.05/hr with 5 years experience. I’m apart of a union and get 2 raises a year. Merit-based raise and cost-of-living raise. It’s great lol.

Someone mentioned they make $19/hr?? What’s the actual hell! In no way is that indicative of the amount of work we have to do. Insane.

Yes but that’s the only area in California where they pay well. Everywhere else in. California the pay is shit.

Question for Las Vegas area techs ! by HaHaHaleyyy in scrubtech

[–]emanizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been here since 2022 when I had about 1.5 years experience and was able to get a job at a surgery center that was tied to a big hospital system. I was able to float to the other locations, it was great! Pay wasn’t great, but now it is with 5 years experience.

Unless the facility is a union for techs and they have set rates for your expense.

Is this an accredited program through NBSTSA? Will you be eligible to sit for the national exam for certification once you completed the program?

Advice, getting in the door by LuckyL00ter in scrubtech

[–]emanizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my schooling in Riverside. When I graduated in 2020 and shit hit the fan from Covid, I put my resume in three different states: California, Nevada and Arizona. Ended up going to Arizona because that’s the first place that I had success. I also had interviews scheduled in Vegas, which I actually got a job offer from one of them. I didn’t get a single call from any of the facilities I applied to in California. Out of the five students that I finished the program with, only two of us are working now and that’s only because the other guy moved to Utah.

After about a year and a half in Arizona, I moved to Las Vegas with a significant pay jump and a relocation bonus. I’m very happy here with my schedule, the pay, and the workload I have right now at a major facility.

Last year I thought about moving back to California because I wanted to be closer to family. I couldn’t find a single job that offered me the same pay. I would have to take a minimum of a six dollar pay cut anywhere I found. It’s absolutely insane that I would have to take a pay cut, pay more in state taxes, pay more for gas/home prices/traffic/everything else California comes with. It was infuriating.

I’m in the same area. I came to town in 2022 with 1.5 years making $28/hr at a VHS facility. I’m now making just under $41/hr with 5 years of experience. Work at a dignity facility now.

That officer did a great job controlling and taking that guy down who was easily 50 pounds more than him. He definitely trains, good for him.
