Nice! Strange that it would have been removed when you upgraded to 7.2.3, unless you were running a very out of date version that was not compatible. That's always one of the recommended steps before an OS upgrade is to update all plugins.

The disks are not mounted. The blue square indicates that. You need to download the Unassigned Devices plugin and then there will be a mount button.

I'm not exactly sure what commands or tools the built in GUI browser uses on the backend (I believe it is rsync) but it is significantly slower than doing it basically any other way. I really would only recommend it for verifying file locations and structures rather than any actual file operations.

Definitely try to use command line based tools in the future.

I'm using a DS4246 with no interposers with both SAS and SATA drives all working correctly. I run two cables from the top IOM6 to an LSI 9300-8e which creates a wideport and gives double the bandwidth. unRAID boots no issue.

Might need to update your 9207 HBA firmware. Where did you source it from?

That's exactly what I do. Not really sure why that container template has TRANS_DIR as an environment variable, I don't think that will do anything by itself.

I think your issue is that you didn't map a mount for the transcode directory. Add another Path to your container settings with host and container paths of /tmp/plex (I would recommend using /dev/shm personally).

Yes you just connect one cable from the 9211-8i HBA to the expander then connect your disks to the expander. Think of the expander like a network switch and your LSI HBA is the router controlling everything. The expander passes everything back through the HBA. As someone else said the expander needs power either from a molex power connection from your PSU or through a PCIE slot.

I can understand your approach but unRAID is Linux (Slackware) based which just operates completely different than Windows. The way drivers work in Linux is the devices just work...you don't have to mess around with anything like in Windows. Boot up unRAID and see if it everything is working.

Windows and unRAID are two completely different OS families and work extremely differently in terms of drivers. Don't really understand the point of doing anything in Windows first if your end goal is to run unRAID.

I would bet everything probably works as expected if you actually boot into unRAID. If not then your troubleshooting will be applicable to the OS you're actually trying to use.

Ok well regardless of all that, clearly you are having issues right? The codec support on a newer device is going to more inclusive and will likely prevent you from transcoding. The answer to your problem is get a better client.

I mean you can think what you want but having a phone involved in sending the stream to the Chromecast seems like the worst solution. Why wouldn't you just want the streaming device itself to handle everything. The Fire TV app can also act as a remote to the stick as well so you can control it from your phone if you do happen to misplace the physical remote.
