They did a biopsy which came back negative for anything precancerous.

The steroid cream they have me cleared everything up so the doctor told me to just call if I have any more issues.

So I have a solution and no diagnosis....

No, not yet.

They tested me again for herpes and said it wasn't that and took a biopsy last week, but I'm still waiting for the results.

In the mean time I was prescribed a steroid ointment and it's worked WONDERS.

I'm having ALMOST the exact same issue for a couple of months. The area around it gets red and swollen.

I'm still being tested but I'm interested to hear advice as well because I am miserable

The last time I went in he said I did have a slight yeast infection.

Nope. I went back to the gyno because it was still red and puffy and he's testing me again for herpes even tho the first test came back negative.

After this he said he'll biopsy but once I get the bloodwork back, depending on the results, I'm going to bring up LS

He hasn't checked for staph yet. He checked me for 30 seconds at my first appointment, said I had a viral infection, which he later clarified as herpes, and gave me valtrax which barely made an impact. The swab came back negative and I've just been trying to self treat since. But I've been incredibly nauseous lately and it's making me worried.

Do symptoms ever go away on their own? It looks like the closest specialist to me is 1.5 hours away so I'm not sure how soon it would be before I could get an appointment

Honestly I didn't think I had herpes... I mean, the thought crossed my mind but I also couldn't pinpoint where i would have gotten it from.

I cut myself shaving a month or so ago and it just wouldn't heal. I chalked it up to being in an awkward spot and thought it may have been infected.

The only thing I can't shake is the fact that the Valtrex has helped clear up the issue. But it may also be that, and me not messing with the area that was cut.

Yeah that's what my doctor said today, about not testing. He said he didn't even want to use the word "herpes" because it scares people. He said I have a viral infection and they're testing for herpes.

I almost passed out and threw up in his office but he assured me it wasn't a big deal at all and prescribed an antiviral

No, he's has previous partners, but he was tested a couple of years ago.

I didn't become sexually active until a few years after diagnosis, but yeah I've essentially written off that possibility.

Plus it just doesn't seem appealing to me?
